I think he is referring to how compact Porsche makes the engine and the surrounding equipment. When you look at the NASCAR plumbing it's a spaghetti dinner.

Bigger, Heavier, R&R much more difficult

Yup, A lot more space to the engine but it is a 5.8 liter motor.

What is more difficult? I had issues working on my first VW motor vs. my first SBF.
