Poll: Do You Have Cosmetic Procedures?
 

Since we've had a couple of threads on the topic, I thought it was time for a comprehensive poll.

The question is: Do you have cosmetic procedures done on yourself?

And if yes, what? The poll choices are (and you can pick more than one):
1. Hair? This would be anything other than haircuts and, for ladies, hair styling. For example, coloring, gray blending, extensions, perms, baldness treatments.
2. Teeth? This would be dental work beyond that required for health or function. For example, whitening, straightening, cosmetic caps, jaw realignment (if for mostly cosmetic reasons).
3. Skin? This would be other than bathing, moisturizing, sunscreen, manicures. For example, filler injections, Botox injections, anti-wrinkle treatments, tanning, lightening. I'll throw skin art in there too.
4. Body shape? This would be invasive (typically surgical) treatments that are for cosmetic reasons and are not to repair an injury, burn, etc. For example, nose jobs, tummy tucks, face and neck lifts, chin fat reductions, breast and other implants, breast and other reductions, various lipo (fat removal) procedures.
5. Other This is whatever I haven't included above. For example, I just thought of contact lenses to change eye color.

The poll is anonymous (others can't see your individual response), but feel free to discuss the details if you want. I don't think cosmetic procedures are anything to be abashed about. It doesn't seem any different than dressing stylishly or losing some vanity pounds.

One of my friends, a lady in her early 50's, had an eyelift (is that the term?) done and damn, she looks terrific and natural. I won't hesitate to do that sort of stuff when the desire arises. In the meantime, I get a gray blend when my hair is cut, and take a daily finasteride for hair loss. Maybe my man card is a bit tattered, but a little lamination will take care of that.

Hell no. My hair started to go away so I shaved it all off. Now my haircuts are 5 minutes with an electric razor. I have far better things to spend (waste) my money on. Plus I'm already married, which pretty much rules out sex regardless.:D

I had a nose job, only cause I broke it

If you took the opportunity to have your nose reshaped, then that counts as cosmetic. If your nose went back the same as it was before the break, then doesn't count.

I've mentioned before I'm an amateur fighter so I have new teeth, and have had a procedure to fix my nose and eye socket back to "original." I'm toning it down now though, can't really handle the pain anymore. From the fighting or the procedures.

I got a haircut and a beard/mustache trim today.

That is about it for me. If I have a tooth filling I prefer tooth colored filings, not the mercury based stuff.

Well, count me out as I've never even had a pedicure.

What is skin art? You mean tatoos? I wouldn't call that a cosmetic procedure. I'll leave it at that. No tatoos here either.

None of the above. None of that crap ever.

But I usually go as far as to put on trousers when company comes a callin.


OK, I got three out of the 4 front teeth capped, but that's just cause they got broken.
In fact when I was 13 one of em got broke in a fight and my parents didn't have much $$$ so I had a silver cap put on until I was 16 and they could afford a regular one.

Don't ever make your kid have a silver cap.

Touche! No, I haven't had any work done on my tush either.

What would be the point? I could make myself look like Brad Pitt, but when I started to speak everyone would run for the exits. I need a personality transplant or injection or whatever more than I need a new nose.

Right, I could use a voice implant. ;)
