seems likely, but that doesn't make him guilty of murder

he is most certainly guilty of manslaughter

but who knows what the jury will do

None of it makes sense to me from either perspective.

I don't understand the love for a guy that got out of his car, accosted someone, and then killed that person.

We'll see folks being Zimmerman'ed a lot if he gets off.

Don't love him, don't even know him. Just hate to see n innocent man railroaded for political purposes.

I get out of my car all the time; so does my wife...it could have been one of us. You expect a beating for getting out of your car?

He had an extra duty to go out of his way in order to effectively communicate who he was and what his intentions were if he happened to run into Martin. (again, had he followed police instructions this would not have happened) Not only did he lack basic self defense training, he also lacked basic conflict resolution training and overall interpersonal communication. The reality is that Zimmerman was an untrained citizen armed with a loaded gun attempting to play law enforcement. Due to his lack of training and poor judgment he put himself in a situation that ultimately claimed the life of an innocent person. I have a hard time seeing that he can bear no responsibility in this.

Everything Zimmerman did was legal per all evidence presented. The only one who was not innocent was the one who assaulted the other. Evidence indicates that was Martin.

Here's part of the relevant statute:

"However, a person is justified in the use of deadly force and does not have a duty to retreat if:
(1) He or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony; or..."

Notice it doesn't say that harm must occur, only that the person believes that it will. How many times would your head need to be bounced off the concrete before you started worrying that great bodily harm was in your future? 1? 3? 37?

Here's what I don't understand. When Martin was casing Zimmerman in his car getting ready to kill him, why did he allow himself to be seen?

Also, how did Martin drag Zimmerman out his car? Head first or by Zimmerman's feet? After Martin got Zimmerman out of the car, why didn't he just kill him instantly like he planned? It's like a James Bond film with with a big circular saw blade. He waited to kill Zimmerman and that was his undoing.

Something to consider.

there has to be an actual threat, not a made up one. You do want to win, right?

and Zimmerman's head was bounced off of Spongebob Squarepants dolls, never was it bounced off of concrete.

Zimmerman: hey, you. what are you doing here?

Martin: F'you.

Zimmerman: Stop right there.

Martin: F'you

Zimmerman: You aren't going anywhere. Grabs Martin.

and so on.

You see, Zimmerman said, "These a-holes always get away."

Occam's Razor: Zimmerman wasn't going to let that happen. Case closed.

fintstone 07-12-2013 01:00 PM

Still don't understand the fascination in Zimmerman getting out of his vehicle. Seems normal to me. Do it all the time. I also don't see why it matters if Zimmerman's head was beat against concrete or the hard ground. It is dangerous and hurts either way.

Unfortunately, you are the only witness that saw that...and you were not there.

Read a few law texts. You don't seem to grasp even the basic concepts here...

Maybe staying in a few Holiday Inns would help. That's where I studied law.

Shaun, you're neglecting that Zimmerman, trained "Watch Capitan" that he was, called out to Martin from a good 100' away, Excuse me sir! Armed neighborhood watch captain here! I don't recognize you as a resident in this community! May I please ask you what your business is in this development? (he called out very loudly).

Martin then circled Zimmerman's car as he chased him around it, Zimmerman, out of breath, stopped and faced the rapidly closing Martin, pulled his gun and shot Martin through the heart just as Martin's fist broke his nose and he fell on top of him, one more dead punk gangsta, kilt dead by another armed neighborhood watch hero!

Yes. In my neighborhood...I get put and talk to whomever I choose. I have no fear of being attacked. I assume Zimmerman did not expect to be either.

You should grab them and say, you're staying here until the police come.

See what happens next.

He was grossly negligent at the very least. You can be a grossly negligent crane operator and cause the death of co-workers by using poor judgment. It doesn't mean that you did anything illegal.

"I get out of my car all the time".......thats funny Zimmerman was just getting out of his car....... funny sh##

widgeon13 07-12-2013 01:26 PM

We just have a bunch of barroom lawyers here anyway. It's PP not life or death.
