Riding Motorcycles

Is really fun. Even if I was in the back the whole time.

If more people realized how much performance even a modest motorbike has - the roads would be FULL of them!

Don't let the secret out! Motorbikes ROCK!

I've been thinking of getting an old BMW bike or an 80s Honda like yours as I rode those back in the day, but at 49 it seems a bit "mid-life crisis-y." And Chicago's just not the place for one.

Ah, young guy like you.

Us guys having porsches, that's just as silly as a motorbike, we don't really need one.

Yes, it is...

The pic is too grainy to make out if that's you or not.

I'm guessing that's your Bonnie in the middle, but hoping that's your Super Sport on the end...

Contrary to common belief, age and location do not dictate who rides and who doesn't. I'm almost 59, been riding road and dirt bikes since I was 10, and lived in Chicago for 6 years where I rode one of my Harleys.

Currently still riding a Harley as well as several vintage early 70's 2 stroke killer dirt machines. Loving every second of it. The only drawback to the age thing is that body parts take a bit longer to heal (my 500 Husky threw me two years ago and broke my left foot...oh well, just part of the deal).

Last weekend I rode up through Napa and over the Oakville Grade into Sonoma. Spectacular. LOVE motorcycles. Lusting after a Thruxton lately.

What did you think of the Honda Hawk? I've been thinking about picking one up as they are quite unique.

to me, the essence of riding a m/c is 50 mph on widing rural roads.

the hawk was perfect

Growing up in San Diego, on the weekend evenings I used to walk up and down the main drag in Pacific Beach
looking at all the choppers parked in front of all the biker bars. There I guess, I developed my love for choppers,
and when I could finally afford one, I got this one.

This thing has so much torque, I can ride it all day long at less than 1,500 rpm.
