Hell yeah Boxster

Jaguar F-Type vs Porsche 911 vs Porsche Boxster full road test car review - BBC Top Gear - BBC Top Gear

"Here's the operating procedure when driving a Boxster for the first time. 1) Approach driver's door. 2) Wriggle down into low, low driving seat. 3) Fire up 3.4-litre boxer engine. 4) Drop roof. 5) Press Sport and Noisy Exhaust buttons. 6) Commence driving. 7) Negotiate first corner. 8) Immediately consider what to sell, steal or embezzle to have this in your life permanently."

I'll take the Jag since I already have the Boxster experience.

But that article ought to settle any differences the uninitiated have.

"...the Boxster transforms you instantly from slow-witted human to F1 hero. So perfect is its balance, so clearly does it telegraph any loss of grip that you're instantly confident to push the little Porsche to its limits. The steering is slower, a little more confidence-inspiring than the F-Type's quick rack and matched nicely to the Boxster's longer throttle and calmer brakes. Every control is evenly weighted, that six-speed manual shorter and crisper than the 911's."

Great read. I'm trying to decide between a 986 and 996. The 986 is probably more fun to drive but requires that I purchase a beater 4-door to haul my 3 kids when required. A 996 can serve as my only car. Both fantastic cars, but the Boxster is hard to beat.

Haven't driven a Jaguar F Type, but got a 2013 Boxster recently and it is a phenomenal driving car. Fun to drive and goes through corners like it is on rails. I assume the new 911's handle that well, and are faster, but the Boxster is hands down better than any other Porsche I own!
That being said, I am OK if people call it a girly car- my wife loves it too, and thus continues to support my Porsche habit

Saw F-type up close and personal recently. Beautiful car. Sticker price was $108K. Sure makes Boxster seem like a great value bang for your buck.

I don't have much interest in an air cooled car right now.

Hard to believe how inexpensive the used ones have become.
Almost beater-car territory, in some cases.
