Any Sailors in Atlanta?

I was wondering if their are any sailors in the greater Atlanta area that might sail at Lake Lanier. If so can you let me know where your docked and what your sailing?

I sail a Catalina 30 out of Sunrsie Cove (just south of Browns Bridge) and I try to get up whenever the winds make it worth it. Last sunday was the best conditions of the season so far. Ten gusting to fifteen and steady from the northwest. No rain!!!! Perhaps sailing P-heads can all get together some weekend and head out on the lake for a day.

Bob, I've been away from Atlanta for a dozen years, but when I was there, I sailed a J/22 that I kept (drysailed) at LLSC. I used to love going up to the lake after work and doing a little relaxed sailing, or racing around the cans. Those were great days.

I'm north of you..yes, last Sunday was phenomenal on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee. Reminded me of being back in the Abaco's.
I've sailed Lanier but never had a great wind day and always too much traffic...but...if you ever need a little help, let me know.

Ben...finally a great sailing day without the rain, but the Lanier water level takes it now almost over the launch ramps!!

I thought they drained lake Lanier a few years back and built a dirt track or something like that?

Lanier is Atlanta's potable water source and claims to have the worlds largest inland floating marina, besides being the "most popular" lake in the country. Its an Army Corps impoundment of the Chatahoochee River with over 80 miles of shoreline.
