What is your all time favorite sandwich?

You can be specific or general. Burgers count. If it is food surrounded by bread, bring it.

Me? I cannot walk by a good Vietnamese sandwich joint without stopping. I love Banh Mi sandwiches! I had a meeting today near a big Vietnamese neighborhood. Fresh baked French bread, grilled chicken or pork. (Marinated in lemongrass and fish sauce). And copious amounts of fresh veggies. Cucumber, mint, cilantro, pickle carrots and daikon. I found a great one today! I think it cost me $3. I got two but only ate one. Hoping the other one survives for dinner. They used to be $1.50 in college days.

What do you have?

Cliff, have you tried the Reuben at Europa Deli in Orinda?

Bar Tartine in SF has a fried chicken sandwich that is insane (and other stuff).

Tuna-melt sandwich:

Tuna salad + havarti cheese + potato bread.

Grilled on both sides.

Eat... make more...

oh man this is like trying to choose from amongst a redhead, blond or brunette.

Hot samich is pastrami on rye with an excessive amount of hot mustard.
Cold samich is chicken salad with onions and sweet peppers on a hard roll.

Of course there's always peanut butter and banana on white.

The one I always go to is dry salami, swiss on a baugette with butter only. A stripped down, dang good sandwich. My other fave as RouxRoux said, is a Muffelatta from Central Grocery.

Hot sandwich... thickly layered Pastrami on rye, with lots of spicy brown mustard.
Cold sandwich...a New England style Lobster roll.
