I think the Bengals, Colts, and Cowboys are too highly ranked. The Bengals and Cowboys are perennial under-performers, and the Colts are probably a year or two away from being top tier. IMO.

The league continues to go down hill.
It used to be the only low-life team was the raiders, who attracted fans with no morals and no class.
Ganstas and wanna-be hoods were the raiders target audience.

That has all changed, several other teams have now stepped up and challenged the raiders for the low-life team of the league award. Seahawks and niners top that list IMO.
Cheap shots, running their mouths constantly, turning scum into an art form.
The bengals might start out well but will dwindle towards the end of the season as the player's probation officers catch up to them.

The patriots are the ONLY team left in the league that has not gone gangsta and still have any class at all.
Will that be enough to win the big one? Probably not but there are plenty of teams to root against who have a shot at it.

It would be interesting to compare the arrest rates of NFL players vs. millionaires in the general population.
I could pretty much guaranty that an NFL player is more likely to get arrested than the average millionaire.

NFL Arrests Are Rising. Why That’s A Surprise.
Given all the economic incentives to stay on the field, why are NFL players getting into trouble? And what else can be done to stop bad behavior?

The first degree murder charges against former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez have shed light on a disturbing trend: since the Super Bowl in early February, 31 NFL players have been arrested, according to a database compiled by U-T San Diego. Other incidents include attempted murder charges against former Cleveland Browns rookie Ausar Walcott, after he allegedly punched a man outside a New Jersey club, and gun charges against Indianapolis Colts safety Joe Lefeged, who was arrested this past weekend after he fled police during a traffic stop.

According to labor economist Stephen Bronars, the off-season arrest rate for NFL players is up 75% year-over-year. “This might be a blip that won’t last,” says Bronars. “But it’s not good.” The annualized NFL off-season arrest rate is much lower than the national arrest rate for men ages 22 to 34: 3.5% since 2003 compared to 9.9% for all men aged 22 to 34 (since 2000, NFL arrests are 36% more likely to occur in the off-season).

Bronars, however, considers NFL arrests rates “surprisingly high,” given that NFL players have such short windows to earn millions of dollars. The average NFL career is about 3.5 years; the opportunity cost of suspensions, lost endorsement income, or being released because of misconduct is enormous.

Plus, when you compare NFL players to other professionals earning, at a minimum, hundreds of thousands of dollars while working for a thriving corporate enterprise, the bad behavior seems even more out of whack. “The arrest rates do seem high relative to highly-paid workers in most companies,” says Bronars. But Bronars also notes that NFL players are, on average, significantly younger than high earners who have spent years rising up the corporate ladder. And in general, younger men are more likely to be arrested than older men.

Back in 2007, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell instituted stricter punishment for player misconduct, in response to an escalating number of arrests. Is this off-season proof that this deterrent hasn’t worked? Jason Lisk of The Big Lead crunched some numbers, and found that even though off-season arrests have pretty much declined from the peak 2006 level that prompted Goodell’s measures, the longer view looks much different. From 2000 to 2006, the NFL averaged 17.7 player arrests during the off-season. From 2008 through 2013 – Lisk excluded 2007 from this calculation, since Goodell instituted the new policies halfway through that off-season — the NFL has averaged 28.5 arrests per off-season. That’s a 61% increase.

But it isn't so much about them getting arrested as how the act on the field.

There's a reason it isn't allowed to spike the ball in football outside the pro ranks. it's called sportsmanship.

Sportsmanship. Besides looking ridiculous i mean.

If I owed a pro football team it would be very similar ot the patriots with no show-boating allowed, no talking smack about the team or team mates, no acting like a punk allowed. 1 screw up and you're gone.

I'd also take a pair of scissors to anyone who's hair sticks out of their helmet.

And the more tatoos the lower the salary.
If a player had tatoos all over his self like a clown, minimum wage.

geez angry much? Should everyone be a carbon copy of you? I personally hate the goofy ass crew cuts so popular today but wouldn't think of telling another he can't wear his hair that way - regardless of his chosen profession. Just outta curiosity how old are you? Your rant reminds me of my father.

I have to whole heartedly agree... I'm not a huge football fan... but it is the best excuse I have to relax for a couple hours and drink beer on a Sunday afternoon.

I find it ridiculous how these millionaire athletes prance around like school girls every time they catch a ball or make a tackle... oh wow... you did YOUR JOB! That job you get paid millions of dollars to do!

How would this look in real life? Every time you go to the supermarket and check out the person at the cash register started jumping up and down and pumping their fist "Yeah baby! Checked out a customer!"

Exhibit A: Aaron Hernandez. What a stand-up citizen he was. Good thing the Patriots got rid of him BEFORE he killed several people.

I do find the celebrations irritating too. However, I also realize that it is a high adrenaline game and that pumps more freely after big play. Suffice to say different times. I was HS wrestler on a team that won first in far-east for many years. I tended towards being mellow prior to and after a match. Some might have mistaken demeanor for not caring. Later was in special ops unit in Army and was the same, however other guys in unit could get quite noisy and pumped prior to move out. Different strokes.

Doubt that's what's going on here. These guy have likely had a sense of self since garnered adulation from playing ball. They may not have the same level of education or sophistication as some here, but I am sure they have a sense of self. Certainly not the same a low level customs agent.

Keeping the adrenaline and big mo going... not quite same on the field of play as in the office doing accounting...
