Chris Reeve Sebenza -- my first experience
I got the small Sebenza 21 recently. You can read reviews until you're blue in the face about this knife so I won't go in to a full review. I just thought some here would be interested in my initial take. This is a really solid, beautiful knife in my eyes. I went with the plain titanium slabs as opposed to the wood inlays or the lasered designs. The titanium will show wear soon. The knife comes with an allen wrench for easy disassembly to clean and lube. It's lighter than I expected and feels like a tank in the hand. Smooth opening, firm lock-up, and sharp as can be from the factory. I use my knife a lot daily and I won't worry about it getting dinged and dirty. Very utilitarian in looks and feel.
I can't speak to other brands such as Strider, etc. because I have never felt or used them. This slippery slope may one day have me checking out brands like that but I digress. All I want to do now is thin my collection of the dogs I have in there and get another Reeve. That's all I have for today.

Beauty. Can't pull the trigger myself when a $50.00 Endura seems to work well for me. I can admire the quality though. Congratulations.

Reeve's co. makes a really nice knife. I think he wins the BLADE manufacturer award pretty much every year.
Strider doesn't, because their fit and finish sucks and their customer service is even worse.

Beautiful knife!
I had a Reeve PS but gave it to a buddy as a 'going away' gift before he went to the sandbox... I lasted about a year then gave in and bought a CR Pacific.....The knife is ridiculous! I love it! |

Great knife, and easily as good or better than a Strider. I no longer own a Sebenza (sold mine last year) but still have a Strider SnG. The Reeves is a little more streamlined IMO. Im looking at a Microtech OTF auto but $400 for another knife is hard to stomach. Will have to sell something to justify the purchase.

Nice, is it a liner lock?
Most of my most recent knife purchases are Benchmade, but I haven't purchased a new one in years. I love my current knife and carry it pretty much 100% of the time unless I'm sleeping, bathing or on a plane. I'd love to buy more, but the list of things to spend money on is much larger than the incoming supply of money.

I looked the knife up, I see, a frame lock, similar to a liner lock. I used to only purchase linerlocks (a frame lock would be fine too) since they can be opened and closed with one hand which is extremely convenient. I really love the axis lock on my current knife.
my knife is not as pretty since I've been carrying it so long, but this is it.  I like the version of your knife with the Insingo blade.

I love Benchmades as well-- I carried a Griptillian until the Sebenza came. I do love the axis lock. The Osborne is a great knife.

One of these days I will have to take pictures of my knives, a bunch of which are Benchmades. I have a couple differnet Osborne designe Benchmades.
My current carry is an auto Benchmade Mel Pardue design. I do like the CR knives though. My SOG Architech was about the same $$ and I don't like to carry it for that reason... Bill |
