964 RSR Crash
Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash - Autoblog
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/hStcyDj830Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'd like to think that I would jump in the water right away as opposed to checking my phone to make sure I got it all. |
crazy how hard he hits the concrete, and the front does not bend or contort really, at all.
and yes...id be diving into the water instantly.
Good roll cage. I hope the occupants were OK.
He locked the brakes and never turned the front wheels. Drove straight into the barrier from what I could see.
Yeah, that was strange.
Bizarre. He made no effort to turn. Failure in the steering?
Looks like a failure in the carbon-based control system
Obviously a youtube stunt.
If he was aiming for the pond, "Nice shot, man".

It would be very interesting to know what was going through the passengers mind as this transpired.

You can see he was turning the wheels just before impact but, since they were locked, nothing came of it. Hard hit...

Sami YOU MUST LISTEN TO ME!!! |
Apparently the gas pedal got stuck. Luckily the driver and navigator only suffered very minor injuries and the damage to the car also seems to be less serious than expected. It couls have been much worse if they hit a more solid object than water.
I think he chose a head on crumple zone impact, over a side crunching side impact (on his side no less) which may have crippled him for life.
Lots more car ahead of you, than on the side of you. |
He was ordinary old "going too fast". When he hit the brakes he locked them up and the car carried on going straight ahead. All that smoke is tire smoke, and you can hear him accelerating very late towards the corner.
what were the injuries?
It's amazing that the guy pictured at the end of the video expresses no concern for the people in the car!!
