Reeves Calloway experimented with these in the late '70s and early '80s when he was building his forced induction business. I can't remember how many he made, but it was only a handful.

Cool car where someone spent a fortune on, brand new the Calloway Turbo Kit, those Basket weave wheels and Recaros would have cost more than the car.

So he told me to take my time, and I have been busy at the shop, but finally got around to spending some time on it. Turns out, that somehow , when he changed the fuel filter, he replaced a short section of fuel line to the fuel distributor and , he put the check valve from the fuel pump into the fuel distributor. This basically was like capping off the fuel line, zero fuel was getting to the motor. Having the fuel pump dead headed, must have put a lot of strain on the relay, and fuse box, because it also burnt up the fp relay, and heated up the fuse box wiring a little. Got it all running, looked it over real good, and hung two wheel cylinders on it, tightened up the alt belt, repaired a few small other fuel leaks, and took it out for a little stomp today ( at the customers request , he told me to take it out, and run it good )
This little thing is a blast. It really starts to put on the hustle in 3rd gear , just like a 930 ( well almost)
The original owner supposedly bought the car for $7800.00 brand new, and then another 10 k went to callaway for the engine, interior, and wheels. I guess this car spent the first part of its life running road atlanta, and then found its way to PIttsburgh in the early 90's, and was a regular at the local autocross scene here.
Super cool little retro hot rod VW. It looks like they stole some ideas from andial for fuel enrichment under boost. They were using the csv for fuel enrichment. I saw 1o psi under boost in 3rd gear. It is supposed to be a stroker ( size? ) with carillo rods, and some form of mahle motorsport pistons, a ported head etc.....

A lot of money has been put into her...

Cool car. There is a large Scirocco collector following now. That one is unbelievably desirable.

That is a cool period find, don't touch a thing.

I think a 911sc with similar 80's style interior/wheels would be unreal.

I had a red '80 that was my DD for 15 years. It was the first red S shipped to my father's dealership in Redwood City. The second one was bought by Joe Montana.

I loved those cars beyond all logic when they were new. I wanted one badly. I had a new '79 RX-7 that was very cool but I really lusted for a Scirroco.
