Thumbs up Syma X1 4 channel $40 Quad Copter.

This is the most fun I've had with clothes on in a long time.

The SYMA X1 ROCKS and is a BLAST to fly, even in a slight breeze, and the radio has dual rates, beginner mode, and advanced where you can put it up on it's side during hard corners. :arcade:

SYMA is a top notch brand, not a cheap knock-off.

$40 bucks gents, and it's a full 4 axis quad copter.

super stable, and super cheap here:

I have about 20 flights on my first unit, and it's such a blast I just bought 2 more for the wife and friends.

I've got the traxxas qr1 and it's a blast.....though i killed the first one by taunting the dog with it until she leaped up and ripped it out of the air.....

That looks like fun! We've gone through a bunch of Syma S107 coaxial helicopters at my house. They're about $20 on Ebay, so nearly disposable. My oldest son spent $100 of his own money to buy a nice Blade brand helicopter at the local hobby shop, sadly it was no better built than the Ebay Syma.

I have a SQ V CAM, Haven't had any luck with it, unstable, battery dies in 10 minutes overhaul a disappointment, I purchase it because of the camera and looking at the you tube videos people seem to have fun with them, mine is now full of dust

I have a butttt load of spare blades for my Syma X1, pm me if you want some if you pay postage.

Batteries last a long time, 10-12 minutes, and I have about 5 spare batteries so pop a new one in if you want to get more dizzy. there are no servo's, all solid state.

I just received 3 new Symas, two more for me and the wife, and one as a xmas gift to someone.

I'm getting pretty danggg good at doing near 90 vertical wing-overs with it.

way too much fun for $35.

I am addicted to the damn thing! Just got mine fixed after breaking one of the small motor support rods. Got the key chain camera, but too windy today to fly it outside. I did buy two extra 600 ma batteries to extend my flying time. Paid only $35 for the copter, $9 for the camera, and $8 for the two extra batteries. The replacement rod was $2 so I picked up an extra one.

Price is now 34.95. Ordered one Monday and got it last night. After about 10 minutes I started to get the hang of it, but I think there are some trim controls that I've yet to comprehend. FWIW, for 34.95 you get a manual that is just barely decipherable!

Very fun though so far!

..........another victim sucked into the addiction.

buy another 3-4 batteries now.

I added some red electrical tape and bits from a Red Solo Cup to put the nose further out, helps in directional control.

What's the hot HD keychain camera setup on Ebay these days? Anything new? Thinking I want to start flying mine pretty soon.

what's your price point, and final expectations?

there is a 120 degree with external view lens cam, and it shoots 720p. / 30 fps. Ebay $50

want 60 fps? going to cost you, $99 for 1080 at 60 fps.

I want cheap, my camera is an early gen 1, 480x640.

If it gets stuck up in a tree, no big deal

I want a 60 fps camera for smoother capture but at this time don't want to pay for it with my cheapo quad copter platform.

Well, I learned to fly it Friday, and learned that id DOES NOT mix well with sand on Saturday. I had a trip already planned to Joshua Tree so I took it with me. Bad idea.

I now need to disassemble all four gear sets and clean the grit out of them. I can't tell for sure but it looks like they had something like a clear/white silicone grease on them. Anyone know how to dissolve that grease so I can clean it and re-lube?

On the arm boom, pull back the small square retainer box cover that goes over/around the drive motor. Just a simple tug will do.

Then the motor easily pushes up and out.

If you got sand in the prop shaft, maybe blast it out with WD40 to flush it?
