And on the way home stopped at an estate sale and found a bunch of micro machines in a most unlikely location. They were cheap! I bough a bunch of stuff and it was like 14 bucks total. Got some old petersen vice grips mint condition, a bunch of puzzles for my mom and some junk from their dumpster including a sansui 2000 receiver that works fine. But i was most excited about the micros because they are illusive these days

Scored a very high end fog machine on my neighborhood giveaway page. My son has been using a cheap one for his halloween set up for a couple years. This will take him to the next level.

Found a guy on FBMP who makes bat boxes for $40. Picking up two this week with the plan of hanging as far up in a couple of trees on the property. [emoji1695][emoji1695][emoji1695][emoji1695] these little guys show up at dusk every night and fly between the house and the upslope hillside nightly feeding on the local insect population.
Anyone having experience in where and how to hang, feel free to educate me on the ways of the Force. Have that same wheelbarrow, it’s super flimsy and needs diagonal bracing on the undercarriage because the plastic spacers flex like crazy if you load it heavy. A few weeks ago the wood handle broke at the laminated joint. Trying to decide if I will get around to fixing it. A solid rubber tire is better for infrequent use.
Nice score, a good cheap or free wheelbarrow would be nice right now |

I must have about 6-7 wheelbarrows but only 2 of which are functional. The others are more-or-less donors at this point. The salt air here eats up all the metal parts. The wheels can be a real PITA because most are not interchangeable and replacements are super pricey (IMHO). I've replaced tubes and that helps but eventually tire goes flat again..... |
On the wheelbarrow tires: yeah, I had the same problem. Replaced tires and tubes several times over the years. Finally bought a solid tire for the thing. The rim had rusted and even though I had sanded and repainted the inside, eventually rust flakes would puncture the tube again.

Thanks Baz.
The other stupid thing I remembered about that design- the bracket at the front that connects the handles rotates when you dump it and becomes a parking brake. |
When the front strap/tipping shoe rusted and broke on our wheelbarrow, I made a new one. When I installed it, I made a second bolt hole on one side so it would not rotate.
Easy fix. Best Les |

You'd think the designers would have received appropriate feedback and made adjustments by now - because that's been a problem with almost every barrow I've ever used! Very frustrating! |
New handles are available from Menards.

Speaking of wheelbarrows I picked up a nice one today among other things. It just needed a few spacers on the wheel. So I have 7 wheelbarrows now. I tried to sell some but didnt get any hits. The 4 wheeler I got at a garage sale for 100. The rest was free at the curb. Cub cadet with bad deck and no engine I already stripped for parts, a water heater for scrap and some other misc scrap metal. and the ariens snowblower just needs the belt put back on and the pull start rope fixed. I may end up stripping it for parts and scraping the rest we'll see. Those older blowers kinda suck the controls are overcomplicated they are heavy and most only throw the snow a few feet. anyway good day for scores but i need more stuff like a hole in the head. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1696028095.JPG

It looked too big to be a Kei truck. |
Yes half the fun of driving it is peoples reactions. A lady pulled up next to me and yelled "Holy S**t that thing is awesome!" another guy yelled "That thing is ugly!" alot of old guys know what it is but most people have never seen one. Its fun for everybody except the people stuck behind me lol
|
^^^ It looks to be in very nice condition.
