Found this on Craigslist. It's a 5' spool which I used to replace my 4' spool table that I've had for 40 years. I split it into two pieces, stained and sealed. It's a little shiny in the photo but getting duller as it drys. I paid $100

They go for $750 easily. I thought it might be stolen, but it was a retiring contractor, totally legit.

That’s a great score
If it’s stolen Hilti will know if you take it in for repair at their service centre.

It looks almost brand new. Nice score. I've borrowed my neighbor's Bosch a time or two but this Hilti looks much more better.

Got my boy this bike for $75 and he’s riding it everywhere. I’m so proud.
Hanging in the background is my old Trek I can’t bear to sell because it cost $1900 in 1991

Damned if I can see any difference between the two?????

herr_oberst 07-08-2024 08:16 PM

mrtate, I think it's great that your kid is happy with his bike, and he rides it everywhere. That's fantastic, and I mean it, but I'd sure be a lot happier if you might plug that bar end? I cringe when I think about what an open tube can do in an accident...

(I'm sorry to be a buzzkill here; just thinking of the kid....)

Paul, cast your eyes to the suspension fork and disc brakes. Bikes have come a long long way in 3o plus years. That's trickle down technology.

Hey, I can remember when dirt was rocks. My last bicycle was a 10 speed Raleigh Supercourse...Moly tubing and all...;)

FBMP score. Free is me.... Advertised and I caught it like 20 minutes reaching out to the guy and he gave me his address and to come pick it up. looked online and found no others like it, but it did take & dispense 2 gallons of water at 125 PSI and has held for a few days now since the original testing.

Had a more contemporary one years ago but my dad took it from our lake house when it sold and would not give it back to me...

I actually made money on something.
Bought a pair of boots on eBay for $18.50, just over $35 after shipping and tax.
Just sold them on FBM for $50.

I've got a ton of stuff that needs to go, and I refuse to sign up for Facebook, so I'm relying on the wife to post the stuff for me.

Found a couple of matching pieces to our mid-century modern dinnerware set that belonged to my Inlaws. You can see some of collection in the background. This is Poppytrail Pepper Tree by Metlox and was produced in the early 60's. The 8 cup coffee pot is too tall to find under the cabinets. Very Frank Lloyd Wright-ish design.

I'd been wanting a zero gravity swing, been keeping a eye on the classifieds. Well, on my way home from breakfast, almost literally at the end of my street, I see a Zero Gravity swing. I was driving the 944S so it was not going to fit. Head to the house, the Suburban is hooked up to the chair. trailer since I am still moving out ot the warehouses. Head back, trailer in tow, still there, so I grab it and head home to inspect it, and if crap, well, Tomorrow is garbage day. Upon getting it home, I notice that it is remarkably solid, some lose nutz and boltz, missing one, and the main issue is the cord that holds the canvas needs a be replaced on one chair. Looks comfy I havnt seen one like that. My neighbor has a 60s bench out there now but I dont need it. If its out there still in a few days ill probably just grab it for scrap. We had a free sale a few days ago got rid of a bunch of stuff. Im going to do a cleanout this week suposidly lots of machinist stuff sounds like a good haul.

I won't add the dark jokes that popped into my twisted head after reading your description...

But that's a good idea, stiff/hard, light weight, and as long as the thing is big enough, and you pack so the thing doesn't move around too much...
