Bought this Milwaukee mag drill off of FBMP today. Model 4292 on the 4231 base. $50! It's 240 volt though. Weighs a ton. Huge chuck. Too big for my needs.

I already have a Hougen, so this gets flipped after a coat of paint. I also need to replace a couple of handles on the drill.

^^^ That is weird. I've used a LOT of mag-drills, never seen anything other than 120 AVC.

Is it 240V 60 Hz? Or 50 Hz?

cmccuist 11-11-2020 05:17 AM

It's 60HZ. Apparently, the drill motor is 120 and the magnet is 240. I've looked all through Milwaukee's manuals for this model and they do have a wiring diagram for 240.

1990C4S 11-11-2020 06:37 AM

That makes sense. It's a good drill, but I've never needed one other than work.

Make it into a drill press? They typically have two speeds, slow, and turtle slow.

It's good for building welding tables. I loan out my Hougen periodically. I'm going to see if I can 3D print the buttons. Milwaukee sells a replacement panel, but it's $400.

The one good thing about estate sales.....I've been getting up at 5am for 7am starts, done by 11 and onto home projects. Before I started this routine, I'd sleep in or lounge till 11am and the convince myself it's too late to start doing anything and so I'd watch tv all day.

WPOZZZ 11-14-2020 02:55 PM

Picked this up along with a lot of Excellence mags from a seller on Craigslist.

Free off kijiji. Table and chairs. The chairs are junk, but the table is real wood. Once I refinish it, I'll have to figure out what I'm doing with it. :p

Cut in half it would be a great workbench top!

I was thinking more in terms of being patina'd by some grandkids after refinishing it.

Got an unused supposedly custom built humidor off of our neighborhood buy nothing board. I dont smoke cigars and wont ever. But it I will use it for something. There was a bit of sap that had bled through the cedar. Got that cleaned up with denatured alcohol and it turned out really nice.

This week I will be cleaning them both up and then hopefully will find a place to display them properly.

I've always had concerns about theft, so will have to figure something out to help keep them from being carted off by some lowlife weasel. I live in a decent town but we do get our share of thieves.

I could never understand why concrete statuary is so damn expensive??

I found a dolphin one that I really liked. I just couldnt justify paying $700 for something that is basically 3 bags of Sakrete..

My latest recent flea market score. A Magma gas grill for the boat.
This grill alone is over $500 new. The cover itself is another $100 , plus the rod holder mount is $125. They are super expensive.

It was a pricey find at $45.. I almost fell over when I asked the guy what he wanted for it. Actually felt guilty... ( for a second or two..)

Nice score, Vinny!

Yeah....I would never pay $700 for a freaking statue! Got mine years ago when the pricing was more reasonable.

Today was apparently "table day'....I picked up 4 of them! Pics later.

Baz 12-29-2020 03:11 PM

Table scores today.......all free.....and will be put to use......

I really like the little green wooden one! :p
