This afternoon I scooped up a DVD/VCR machine off CL - $50. It's never been used still in it's box and came with remote, RCA lines, and user guide.
I tested it when I got home and it works just fine. I already have one (Slyvania) but when/if it breaks, I now have a working backup. I have some video cassettes of cool stuff - some not available in any other format, thus having the VCR component is necessary. Part II: On my way to pick up the machine, I saw a wheelbarrow curbside. Told myself I will stop on the way back - IF it is still there. All the while the little voice in my head saying (You niwit....if you wait it will be gone - turn around now!) - which I ignored, electing to leave it to fate. ;) Well it was still there and aside from needing a new wheel is in decent shape! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676319136.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676319136.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1676319136.JPG |

Picking up a “free” hot tub off of FB Market place. Phase-1 complete by trailer modifications so I can transport it. The wifey has talked about getting one and we were both shell shocked at the prices we saw at the Home Show. These things are the price of a used car….[emoji15]
Has a leak, so I know there will be some digging( literally), [emoji23] Also picked up a free compressor from the same household, win win. Pics to followhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...342a1b150a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...25dc149eb0.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Baz, the wheelbarrow looks like our TrueTemper. After 25 years I replaced the wheel with a no-flat. Next I will have to replace the shafts. The U shaped piece across the nose rusted away years ago so I replaced it with a heavier piece. It has had a hard life, hauling manure out of the barn and being a mixing tray for small batches of concrete.
Nice score. Best Les |

I have a few older ones I can salvage some parts from if need be, too. They really do come in handy! |

Hahahahahahahaha!. Taken from the Bushokie book, chapter two. [emoji1787] Nice tub BTW, big jets good for actual massage. See, I have learned some new stuff about tubs n jets. My biggest fear would be shattering the 944’s rear window. |

Thanks Baz, Luckily, I can back the trailer up to within 10’ of where it’s planted. The guy has a trailer repair shop and will/should have a few guys there that can help muscle it into the trailer. I guess I could also stand it on its side, pump side down from what I have seen in my YouTube University class. This will probably be on the top of the “bad idea” list in my resume. Original owners and they are moving from CA to TN. When full of water, the level will drop to the bottom of the top jets per the pics. This will be my first attempt at something like this. Could be as simple as a cracked line to a jet, bad seal or……..[emoji2371] All I can do is open it up and take a gander. If this idea doesn’t blow up in my face, might look into a salt water chlorine generator rather that the norm of chlorine or bromine tabs and all the other chem that goes along with it. I understand the salt water route still requires chemicals, just not as much or as harsh to the skin. Cheers, |

Nice score Baz!!!! Speaking of “a lot”, the wifey and I were just talking about a HP 1018 laser jet printer we have had in the office that I picked up 18 + years ago. Never turn it off, has rolled through numerous CA power outages, cold, heat, etc… prints B&W like none other and has outlasted three scanner/printer/copier/fax combo units. Was absolutely shocked at what they are fetching on eBay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Made me think of the "My Name is Earl" episode where he gets the ex a used hot tub and her toe swells up
I loved that show |

Somehow, chlorine has spiked lately. My pool guy is telling me $250 for a 50 lbs tub. I found 2 - 100 lbs tubs of shock for $150! Needless to say i hurried over there before they changed their mind.

100 lb tubs?? |

[QUOTE=cmccuist;11930617]Yea. Not easy to lift.
Yeah, I bet it is. I'm surprised the bail is strong enough carry that much weight.SmileWavy |
And the guy I bought if from was in the business! He said he left the pool cleaning service he was with and ended up with these two tubs. I was really surprised he didn't realize he had about $800 worth of chlorine there.

And the stuff will last a long time as long as the lid is kept on tight....good score!

Went to a coffee shop liquidation and picked up these two grinders for $300.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1677368921.jpg The silver one is a Mazzer Super Jolly with doser. A commercial grinder that might be used in a small cafe. A new one is about $1K. The black one is a Mazzer Major Electronic with doser timer/funnel. A commercial grinder that might be used in a larger cafe. A new one is about $2.3K. Dunno what i’ll do with them. Maybe clean them up and sell. Should get $1 to $1.5K for both. |
