Your Philosophy About . . . Riding In The Rain

You are thinking about going for a few hour bike (edit: bicycle) ride.

It is raining, and not a little rain either.

1. Nope, not gonna ride in the rain.
2. Ugh, might ride, might not.
3. Rain makes no difference.
4. Rain? De fi nitely riding!

Likely choice #1. Will not start off if it is raining. Why? Odds of getting hit by a car are increased by decreased visibility on the drivers side(light refraction in rain etc).
As my daughter would say why risk it for a biscuit!

Depends on my mood and the reason I am riding. If I really want to get out and ride (i.e., recreation), then #4. If I must ride (i.e. Commuting), then #3.

I just now rode my bike home from work.
It's raining.
20 minutes, doorstep to doorstep.
At this moment, knowing how Friday traffic is here, I doubt I would get back on and go for a few hours, but on a weekend, I have no problem.

February rain.

Not warm caressing summer rain, misting over girls in bikinis.

Cold, penetrating, gray rain.

Easier perhaps on a motorcycle, you can carry heavier rain gear.
It rained all day during a trip in the Alps. It was the only day I didn't take any photos. My buddies didn't take many either.

I framed too many houses out in the cold Seattle-area rain. No matter what the weather, I was out in it as long as their was daylight. I've had enough.

No way am I going to ride in it.

There is a Starbucks on 11th/Lovejoy. They might be open early. How about meeting at 7 am Sunday there. Bring earplugs so you don't have to hear me whine all the way up.

After living in London for a year (I'm a California native), I no longer cared if it was raining or not. I did whatever was planned, anyway. I like riding in the rain.

Now, I would have to say between 1 and 2. I like the rain because I can turn the screw tighter and hammer the guys more because no one really like a rooster tail, dirty water in their face. I sure don't. This was way back when I felt no pain and liked to suffer. That's in southern Cali rain, the wussy stuff.
