Anyone know of a good place to get a good price on home appliances?

Specifically we are looking at refrigerator, dishwasher, and maybe stove... I say maybe because all of them work but are getting old and I'm getting complaints.

I always look at Home Depot just to get an idea of what is out the and prices.

However there is alway Lowes and Sears, any other ideas where to look?

We are on a tight budget so noting fancy, just reliable equipment at a reasonable price.

TIA

Do you want a package deal or what? Catch the right sale at a locallly owned place, ask for better deal buying all 3 at once...

Also, check to see if Habitat for Humanity has a store in your area - the one here sells stuff that was donated but won't fit hte space available or is the "wrong" system (ie, gas range for a place with no gas service)

Scott,

I did the same progression when my gas dryer quit last year--Lowes, Sears, H-D, Sears outlet. I actually found the lowest price at a neighborhood "appliance" store--which was the last place I looked. Same GE dryer $75.00 cheaper than the lowest price I found at any of the other locations. So, don't dismiss a "XXX--appliance" neighborhood shop.

For even cheaper--browse CL--espeically if not in immeadiate need--my buddy pikced up a complete stainless kitchen set--fridge, dishwasher, stove for cheap because a homewoner was remodeling. Appliances were less than 3 years old.

A question to ask where ever you buy it is how do you get something serviced if it breaks down? We have a Lowes and Sears here, but the locally owned appliance store is just about as cheap and they service what they sell.

Any scratch and dent places nearby? I have a GE supplier nearby that offers scratch and dent on new pieces to the general and it's fantastic.

Scratch and dent places can be great. There is a Sears warehouse in Atlanta that sells scratch and dent. Got some fantastic deals there in the past.

I have been in that store... never did comparison shopping (there is a HD and Lowes a few blocks from that location).

I also will check the small shops when the time comes.

Thanks for the help!

My recent experience with Lowe's was positive. Picked what I wanted on their website. Waited for the sale. Got their credit card for extra 5% off. They delivered and installed when they said they would. On time courteous professional and didn't break anything. Nothing scratched or dented. This was 4 major appliances. I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe not the cheapest but pretty painless.

We bought ours at the Sears Outlet in Brea. Saved quite a bit of money.

I'll second the Sears scratch n dent place or any scratch and dent place for that matter.

I have been buying all types of appliances for myself, family, friends, and many many clients over the years.

It's almost too good to be true sometimes how discounted the brand new appliances are. Many are just open box units that a homeowner ordered improperly or had poor delivery service by Sears and wound up being refused by the recipient for ridiculous reasons. Of course there are appliances that look like the got into fender benders.

Full standard warranties available for purchase as well.

Here's their latest sales ad.

They are running a sale for the next 1 day, 6 hours, 15 minutes and 39 seconds.

Up to 40% off appliances and they are offering kitchen packages with frig, dishwasher, stove and nuker (microwave) in varying prices from $1500 to $5000

I like the samsung stuff myself.

Scott, give me the make and model and I will beat everyone else up and down the block including internet. I will put the order in your name but I have to go into the store and arm wrestle the manager. Once that's done you go into pac. sales and pay for it then arrange for delivery. don't worry about their sales, I will beat that too. PM you my email or number
