That is the worst portrayal of John Willhoit possible. I've casually known the guy for a few years and I've never seen him smile or laugh. As a businessman they don't come any tougher. The video makes him seem like a happy go lucky guy. He is definitely sperm lucky but he has worked for his position as one of the best 356 and more lately 911 restorers in the world.

He may be happy but I've never seen a sign of palpable happiness. I'm sure he is happy in some way, but not in the way the video suggests.

But then again, if he collects 200K plus metal work for a 356 restoration, he must be happy on payday.

Maybe he just doe not like you.

Wow, 200K for a car that does not need any metal work. And he has a wait of a year. He must be doing something right, or many things right.

No, I don't think he does like me. I haven't lost any sleep.

I've bought parts from him on eBay - oil cooler, bumper horns, etc. He always has stuff for sale. never met the man but never a problem with purchases...

Cool video - thanks, Doug....

John Willhoit runs a tight and accurate business. He has had a couple of people come in and try to inventory and manage the parts. I think he ends up doing much of that himself.

He has a nice and informative website Always good eye candy.

I have nothing to say bad about the guy just that he seems to have a different personality on camera. Kinda took me by surprise.

BTW, those are nice shots in Naples, Long Beach and up on Signal Hill. Whenever anyone comes to town to film whether it be Guy Fieri for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, or something else, they seem to get the best shots showing some of the nice spots in the city. Out of 50.4 square miles 40 of them are pretty gritty. The broadcast for the LB Grand Prix makes it look like friggin' Monaco.

We have 12% unemployment currently and are one of the poorest cities by income in the state for cities of 100K or more populace.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see the big deal in charging $200K + metal work for a restoration. It would be less if he wasn't getting any business...

I've met the guy a few times in passing and he seemed like a decently happy guy. Maybe this is a more accurate portrayal of his personality:
