Ask for pics showing it being off-loaded from a Herc onto the ice.

Very cool truck

Lots of bidding, I guess I'm not the only one who thinks so...

They sure did a crappy job hosing down the undercarriage with cosmolene or whatever they used....

Hey, that's no big deal, my tundra goes to North Pole every couple days. That's where the Mcdonalds and the tamale lady are.

So who wants to buy MY truck?

A little plastidip on the stock rims and some hungrier tires and I get to pretend that my front lawn is the north pole

What's the background story here? I'm very surprised by this considering Toyotas rep.

Those Arctic Trucks are awesome. The Top Gear Polar Special is one of their best.

Toyota did a huge inspection campaign a few years ago, where they either inspected and replaced frames or simply purchased trucks back from owners. Turned out that they subcontracted Eaton to build them frames (in America no less) that weren't rust protected per Toyota specs. Some rusted bad enough to essentially split the truck in half. I think a few Pelicans were able to take advantage of the inspection and replacement, it was a pretty sweet deal for owners.

You have to respect that. Well done to Toyota. I bet Eaton had some legal issues from Toyota.

Matt the appeal is in the eye of the beholder. I can see the clever marketing they are doing to sell this Toyota for the big bucks. Any time I see driven previously by Elvis Presley, the only one in Alberta etc, this kind of thing puts me on red alert. It's just a freakin truck. I like value and I don't see it but for you this may work!

My frame was inspected during the initial recall and deemed to be OK.
They had another recall to spray the frame with what must be some magical juice.
I never got it in for the frame spraying and was told i'm s*$# out of luck.
Talked to Toyota headquarters...same response.....too bad.
So I asked the rep how could the original exhaust system out last the frame?.......silence on the other end.
I plated the crack in the picture last year (other side was cracked also).
This year I had to weld in 5 patches. The rest of the truck is in great shape and runs great........ to bad is a worthless piece of crap now.

I don't care so much about the history, I just think it's a very cool truck. Say what you want about the marketing, but it looks very well built.

The last generation Toyota trucks were the ones splitting in half (up to 2004)

I had heard that GM had similar issues in early 2000(ish) models, but no recall.

Maybe the same frame manufacturer?

Is the one from Top Gear a diesel? Either way, i like that one better as it looks less cartoonish. i am sure both are well built. Still would not have gotten me out f the driveway a couple years ago.
