favorite midnight snack

You wake up in the middle of the night, and you're hungry. Your stomach is growling so loud that it keeps you awake. You can't make it until breakfast. You get out of bed to make yourself a midnight snack at 2:00 in the morning.

You could make a Dagwood Sandwich... raid the refrigerator, and make a huge sandwich piled high with everything. That's always a good choice. But last night I made something for the first time -- a cheese quesadilla -- and suddenly I have a new favorite midnight snack!

It's a tortilla with melted cheese on top. It's easy and it's yummy.

Frying pan + spray canola oil + tortilla + cheese.

Of course my girlfriend woke up, and I had to make one for her, too. This could become a nightly ritual...

In all my years I have never EVER had anything to eat after going to bed, ever. The closest thing for me is to get up and take an allergy pill or some aspirin, never food.

I figured midnight snacks were a gimmick of movies, TV shows and comic strips.

Never have woken up to eat anything. If I eat something too soon before sleeping, I ALWAYS get horrible heartburn; never have heartburn any other time.

I usually keep a box of banquet fried chicken in the freezer.
No, it isn't all that great but when I really need a snack I toss one piece of that chicken on a plate, nuke it for a minute, and there ya go.

Not much anymore but years ago was a routine when out late at night, post midnight. A choice cut steak med. rare, pile of hash browns, two fried eggs over med., buttered rye toast and tall glass of whole milk. Ridiculous.
