I think this thread holds several examples of why some members/contributors have apparently opted to leave PPOT. Unbridled incivility is the norm in PARF and only the uninitiated are caught off-guard there. We'd all be well served to keep here separate from there.

For me, this place is a refuge from the power-hungry, back-biting, *****y women I'm forced to work with every day. Please don't turn it into same song, second verse.

While there is no danger of me ever owning a F-car, I still enjoy reading other folks experiences and viewing the images of the problems...and every once in awhile 126 posts a pic of his beautiful daughter(!!!)...please don't screw that up for us.

Been working on cars for 40 years, worked at a Porsche Independent shop for several years. Built my race engines on my Porsche race car for the last 15 years, one failure in 15 years. Service my Gullwing regularly among others in the collection. Speeder your facts are completely wrong. Along with my part time Mechanic built our first Nascar race engine (more difficult that a Porsche) and went to the dyno and made 700 HP right out of the gate, only a slight fuel pressure issue and back in the car. Oh the Ferrari is done and gone. Good Riddance

The photo of the race engine was built in my garage at home where I prepped and built the race car for many years, set up and maintenance.

Did both top end rebuilds on my wife's 1991 420SEL and my 1984 500SEC.
Now those 2 repairs were not exactly simple.

So Mr. Speeder before you trash my reputation you might want to check your facts or should I say NON FACTS.

That's great. You should post more technical content then and less BS. We have members who own Ferraris here and frankly you and your buddies don't know much about them.

Nice looking 911 motor, I build a pretty good one myself. For a liberal, of course.

I was watching the Ultimate Factories series. They were at the Ferrari factory and showed a robot fishing head bolts out of a vat of liquid nitrogen and torqueing them down. Could that engine ever rebuilt outside the factory?

Heat retention. The idea is to keep all the heat inside the pipes.

...which mean less heat to the other components in the engine compartment, and faster exhaust gas flow for better breathing for the motor.

Would the owner of an Fcar think that the Singer is too much?

In the 70's by father and I restored a 1956 300Sc Mercedes, only 98 were built.
This car is very complex took 7 years to restore. I was still doing the final assembly before putting her on the trailer the night before she was going to Pebble Beach, they were saluting Mercedes that year. We won first in class and the car was voted one of the 10 most elegant cars at Pebble

Hey, they're beautiful cars and I've complimented you plenty on them in the past. That doesn't excuse you being an asshat on this thread.
