I just had the worst Christmas cookie ever !!

I'm putting a clutch in an Acura RSX today, pretty easy job, and then winding down for the holiday. A bunch of vendors , and customers have stopped in and dropped off cookies, calenders etc.
I was gunning some bolts in, and reached over to grab a sugar cookie off the plate that was sitting on my workbench, tossed it into my mouth, ( eating on the run), when the most god awful taste, and slippery sensation came over my mouth. I tried to spit it out, but after a few seconds, it became nasty.
I ran for my office upstairs, to grab a water, and I ran into the bathroom to rinse my mouth out, when I noticed what I though was silver icing all over my lips. I tried to wipe it off, but it just smeared everywhere. I finally got it all cleaned off, and after chugging a water, the nasty taste went away.
I went back downstairs to resume working, thinking to myself, next year, "I am not eating any of Mrs Scott's cookies ever again".
When I got back to my workbench, this is what I found
Moments before, the Local GM dealer stopped by, and dropped off a calender, pens, and a box of candy, knocking my tub of anti seize off the shelf onto my cookies. That was NOT silver icing after all.

Fred, that is funny, but go pull the MSDS on that goop and act accordingly.

Please.

Oh gawd I can't believe you said that Pete! Made me bust out laughing!

OK, now that I'm done laughing, this can be bad if you ingested it. Spitting it out and gagging, etc., probably won't hurt you but review the MSDS for your specific item and if any symptoms crop up, get thee to the doctor.

the most common component in silver-colored anti-sieze is nickel, but back in the olden days they still used lead. It's rare but it's still out there in some old cans.

Eating nickel is not good for you but probably not acutely poisonous in smaller doses. IIRC it is considered a carcinogen.

Eating lead is way down near the bottom of the good-bad scale, right next to the bad part. Chances are the stuff you were using doesn't contain any lead.

But there's no telling what other metals, sulfur compounds or hydrocarbons they might have put in there.

Copper-coat is nasty too. Gotta wear gloves.

OK I will not try anti-sieze for the icing on my cookies since you say it tastes bad.

The things we learn from Pelican.

Yuck!

I've had nickel poisoning before.

You don't want it.

I believe I'm gonna go ahead and take your word for that. I've got enough going on without adding metal poisoning.
