The officials are terrible. Pass interference call on Atlanta was bogus.

It wasn't the last regular season game; just the last one played at Candlestick (and the last MNF game). Personal foul against SF was bogus, but there were a couple that should have been called, but weren't (like the body slam).
All in all, a great final game in a storied stadium. I will miss watching games there, and am glad I was fortunate enough to catch a couple live games (baseball) IN the stadium when I was younger.

I used to go to Giants games at Candlestick with my Dad. Always double headers. Like being at the beach...you can be freezing cold and still go home with a sunburn.

Me too.
Niners fan here...40+ yrs. in the Bay Area (Peninsula). Belonged to Fitness 101 for a few years and the 49rs players were invited free of charge and frequently worked out at the club in the off season. BS'd with lots of them...Roger Craig was the most popular and accessible. Sat in the locker room w/him plenty of times comparing BBQ tips. He laughed so easliy, I remember. Jerry Rice was unpopular...gave everyone an opportunity to look up his nostrils. ![]() . I like the style of game that Harbaugh has brought to them. All that power in the backfield...using big tight ends back there, etc. Hope they get to the SB this year. . Go Niners! ![]()

I grew up in the Bay Area, loved the Raiders as a kid. Lamonica, Blanda, Billetnikoff, Big Ben, "00"Otto, Stabler, etc.
When they moved to L.A. that was it, I became a Niners fan. Great game today, can't wait for Seattle.

I'm a Bay Area kid and now a Seattle resident and fan. The Seahawks damn-near gave away the game yesterday the way they kept letting the Saints advance and score late in the game. If N.O. had another minute and a time-out they might have tied it up. I remind my kids that killing in the regular season is nice but playoff football is a different thing! Seattle v SF should be a real barn-burner, maybe the real Super Bowl, at least in the west.

Pulling for the Pats and Niners myself. My Mom grew up in Seattle so we have a bet for dinner on that game. My team is Miami - but they sucked again this year - but at least they canned the GM.....maybe next year. ![]()

After the way the Niners handled a very good Carolina in their house, I like the Niners chances in Seattle. It will be the toughest game of the year, though. Should be a barn burner, indeed.

Iffn I had my choice, it'd be the niners getting spanked next weekend by a couple hundred points exposing them as the looooosers they are, and then Brady barebly beating Manning (single-handedly) to go on and beat the sea-chickens in the superbowl.
Unfortunately I don't think anyone can beat seattle, even if brady and manning teamed up. Neither the patriots or denver have the defense to stop seattle. Sure hope I'm wrong tho, go Pats! |
