Pro crypto people remind me of the declining seniors that send money away to their true loves and get angry when told its a scam.

I was never really a pro crypto person. I only got into it when I could buy, hold, and sell it like a normal investment through Schwab at a reasonably expense.

It seemed to me that the ETF would make bitcoin ownership more palatable to a much greater number of people, like me. I can't complain being up 60% since Feb.

Entering into my 70's, I find myself looking for safer investments than Bitcoin.
The last couple years I've bought into Coinstar.

It's safer and I've never lost any money. I haven't made much either, but I'm still hoping.

Even dogecoin has had a big jump in the last week since the election. It feels like we're moving into a scam economy with the DOW poised to take a big schit. You heard it here first. I've "made" something like $40k in the last week on stocks but today they are already coming back to earth.

People ask me how I feel about the election and I tell them, "it's like watching your mother-in-law go over a cliff in a new GT-3...mixed emotions, for sure." :)

Dogecoin more than quadrupled since October. October was 2 weeks ago. Makes Bitcoin at $92k look like an absolute slug.

They are building mining facilities (i.e. "data centers" ) like crazy. The amount of heat the servers throw and the amount of energy they consume is staggering.

I've never gotten involved with crypto simply because I don't see any difference between crypto and straight up gambling.

Gambling only hurt you, maybe your family.

Crypto hurts random innocents. Between ******* with the economy, giving the crazy eyed dude down the street some sort of "I'm a millionaire now!" attitude, and as mentioned above, the fact that it's sapping the freaking electric grid dry.

Good stuff, let's keep supporting crypto.
