Zero question you need to report it. If you don't it's likely to escalate in an even more dangerous way, and I think he's likely using the photos he took to report you using a different version of the story. And that's the optimistic option. I would not wait until Monday.

The circumstances might be debatable, but forcing you to swerve at those speeds was extremely likely to end badly for someone- him, you and/ or your friend. One way or another if this doesn't get resolved it's likely to end up that way sooner or later.

Make some time and get it documented tomorrow, and give thought to what you say on a public forum or in anything discoverable.

When I was 17 I had an Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti with a healthy exhaust note. One day I turned a corner in a neighborhood and a guy practically leaps his front fence to run into the street and starts yelling at me to slow down. I told him that I was in first gear going 22 mph and it was nigh on impossible that I was speeding. I soon realized there was no reasoning with him and drove away. People are funny. - Matt

Vern,
How did he find your place of work so fast? I'd call it in!

Bob Kontak 12-27-2013 06:38 PM

Call it in. Sure.

PM me the address.

So he tried to attack you and trespassed. Two charges: assault and Breaking and entering.

Get a dash cam pronto. It may not be speed but noise. Avoid driving by his place is you could. I wouldn't be surprised if he jumps or shoots you

bad guy

Next time , pull over, shoot him in the face twice and sleep well.

I think the advise about reporting it is the best way to go, but why wait till monday. Telephone it in now while you are thinking of it. If they need more data you can provide it, but at the very least it will be on the books.

Really great advice you are getting here. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens when you report it. Maybe the cops will follow it up, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It is your word against his. However, if you are going to report it, I would report it now rather than wait until Monday. Perhaps, he has already called the cops and has stated that he was minding his own business walking the country road in front of his home and you nearly ran him over and that is why he has a case of road rash from jumping out of your way. That is why he followed you to work and got your license plate for insurance purposes. My gut instinct tells me he has probably already reported it. Did you leave any tire marks? Or is this a gravel road? It now becomes his story against yours and your friends, and he has the bruises to prove it. Do you realize how many people commit insurance fraud by staging wrecks/accidents each year? A great deal. Something to think about.

If I were his attorney that is the story that I would weave on his behalf. Also, if you don't report it now, then it makes it look like you are hiding something. Maybe the nut is actually telling the truth is what the police will think.

He found it because it's the factory at the end of the block and you can see my car in the parking lot.

lol!

I would think that even the most complacent cops would definitely have a word with this nut. Especially coming to your work place. Gotta report it . Could save you from having to shoot him.

I have yet to see anyone refer to this guy as a "Hay Seed" and I find that a little disturbing. Here our cops work nights and on weekends...I'd have reported this to the cops already, if I were you.

Bob - sweet photo of Keitel. This made my day and my thoughts too. This forum is sweet.

You're screwed. I don't believe you and only these suckers will believe you too.

manbridge 74 12-27-2013 08:09 PM

Take him some cookies.... your car might be harmed if it escalates.

atcjorg 12-27-2013 08:11 PM

He obviously loves your car very much and was just trying to give it a hug and take photos of your beauty,,,, Ok he really is batsht crazy you need to report asap to police, you need 2 dash cams front and rear and a protection order keeping him away from your business and home, this is far from normal behavior. Have your security be aware of the situation and to call the police if he comes round. Do not play with the crazies. Be sure your witness makes a statement also.

Carbster 12-27-2013 08:11 PM

Call the Poe Poe and report that toolbag asap!

Report that lunatic, get the camera footage and a statement from your pal to CYA.
Always remember there are those having a bad day and then complete nut-bags, sometimes you cant tell the difference. Your life is precious my friend! CYA!

Some people just suck. They hate their miserable lives and hate it when we drive by in a nice car or on a nice bike while they are stuck with a fat wife and ****ty job... They feed on drama and misery then You become a target!

I had a nutjob chase me on my motorcycle and try and run me off the road.... it gets better, with his small children in the car!!! Apparently I was riding too fast on his road and "could have killed someone!". Some role model huh?
He was arrested for DWI and assault. I was lucky he did not succeed in running me down and also lucky there were several witnesses to his outrageous behavior. I was lucky lucky lucky. I was also happy I had the law on my side for change. Had his small kids not been in the car I might have beaten him within an inch of his miserable life; I didn't have to as my riding buddy did that for me:eek:

Reminds me of Nikki Six from Motley Crue who said, "Just because we wear lipstick doesn't mean we cant kick your ass". We may ride Ducatis, and wear goofy leather suits but aren't sissies ;)

porschenut 12-27-2013 08:43 PM

I doubt you'll have to wait until Monday to talk to the cops. He's probably already made his complaint to them and they'll be coming to your work to talk to you Monday a.m. Or they'll show up at your house tomorrow.

kramer747 12-27-2013 09:26 PM

Has anyone checked this out on Snopes? lol

Evans, Marv 12-27-2013 09:55 PM

You absolutely should have called the authorities when he was taking pictures of your car. I can't think of any reason at all why you should be treating this so casually. Does coming onto private property where you work and taking pictures of your car constitute stalking ??? If you wait a couple of days or any time at all, the police will take it as a situation for them to not be too concerned about since you are not. Get on the ball!
