Just remember that in 1955 you could buy a brand new speedster for $1600

And in 1965, you could buy a brand new C coupe for $3700

Just give me a billion dollars down payment and I will build you one. I will deliver it to you the day I get the money. It will take years to build it but I will just come back in time to give you the instructions.

Here's an idea -- if someone here in the future creates a time machine, their first journey should be back to January 16, 2014, 1:06pm EST, and post on this thread stating that they have successfully created a time machine.

Now we can just relax and wait for the post...

I have some Auto Traders from around 1981-1982. Flipping through them is definitely a mix of pain and pleasure.

Argh. I remember someone saying they were at a dealer in 1974, and why buy a ratty old 1973 911RS race car when for the same money could buy a brand new 1974 with the new modern body shape.

Probably the best place to invest, if you could go back.

I'm curious when and at what price did the 73 RS's bottom out?

These are some seriously expensive cars back then!
I think a house cost $8000 back then.
