Yep.
The lady that lived next door to my grandparents owned a small jewelry store for may years. When she died the house was emptied and eventually sold by the children to a young couple. The couple was in the basement cleaning and found a small bag of diamonds. Legally they owned the diamonds since they were in the house when it was purchased. They did not hesitate to call the people they bought the house from and returned the diamonds. I never heard how much they were worth but it does not take many diamonds to make a large sum of money.

Old single bachelor that owned the house passed away triggering the sale. Looked for his family. None. Had all the windows replaced with period correct units. Better than a coke binge.

G'day!

For me - the driver who bothers to stop and remove the wind-blown trash can(s) from the street and set them up by the owner's house and out of harm's way - then continues on his way...they are the heroes.
I stopped once when a property owners American flag had fallen down from his flag pole. It was lying on the ground. ![]() Carry a shovel with me - stop when I see an animal on the road and take it off so it won't get hit over and over and over by those who are rushing off somewhere.....and can't be bothered. I try to do my part. What comes around goes around. Karma.

Great story there.
I was driving through a strip mall parking lot one morning and noticed a bulging bank envelope laying in the middle of the road. I got out and picked it up, and there was $1,500 cash and a tabulated receipt with a bar's name on the receipt. They weren't open when I found it, so I went back after work and found the owner sitting at the bar. I handed him the envelope and said, "I think you may be looking for this". He was literally shaking, and said that was a whole day's receipts that had been lost on the way to deposit. He actually couldn't believe someone would return $1,500 of untraceable cash. He kept saying over and over again that he couldn't believe he got his money back. Still shaking, he tried to give me $100 bill for my honesty, and I declined, saying it was his money, and I didn't want any rewards. Returning his money certainly made me feel better than buying something with $1500 that I didn't earn. JA

My deaf cousin flew from Texas to our home in MI for our grandfather's funeral. She left her purse and her $ at the Detroit airport (Metro) and she cried the entire way to the airport when we went back to retrieve the purse. Someone found it and gave it to security and all of the $ was still there! We never found out who that kind soul was, but we'll never forget!
