What big ticket items are you budgeting...
for this year? For us it is a possible wedding of our daughter.
Trying to keep costs down for the reception: We don't drink on our side of the family - a big lie. We don't have too many relatives or friends on our side of the family - true. G And you? |

I'm hoping to get an epic west coast road trip in with the 911 this summer......the bigger challenge will be budgeting the time to do so..... Good luck with the wedding!

Big ticket item? A tax bill the size of texas. We got a settlement from a case in 2013. Not enough to fundamentally alter our financial landscape, but enough for a nice kick in the privates on tax day. Not looking forward to writing that check.

Tax hikes, health care premium increases and a fair amount of deferred dental work that I need to get done this year. Real fun.
Total for all of the above is enough to get a service appointment done for a Ferrari 355. Maybe even two of them.

Bought a roof in 2013. Will be great if 2014 doesnt have any expenses like that! Hopefully I can get the wife to sign off on a set of recaro profi xl seats. Probably the biggest car related expense I can think of for the coming year.

We are planning to be debt free this year, sell our only debt, that being our house and buy a small house for cash, so to answer your question a house, but not really having to save for it. Thats the plan anyway

I have 400' of asphalt driveway that needs to be redone. Planning on slowly transitioning to paver stone starting in 2014. Probably 3 separate jobs over the next 3-5 years. Going to be painfully expensive. Just one of many home expenses we're facing.

Well let's see:
. -$14k for a new roof -$10k pool renovation -$4k for outside house painting -$???? for inside remodel (recently engaged) Yikes! . Big ticket enough for me.

Auto pilot and Instrument Rating.
Also thinking about buying a condo or house somewhere it doesn't snow. I don't really budget, but the above is not part of my usual spending.

Cross country move in early fall. Vacations to Miami, Peru, China, Spain, New Orleans and Kauai coming up in the next few months. Normal back and forth to Montana. Probably some new bikes. Anything else I can think of
