Exactly, I hit it because I had a ball cap on, and didn't see the obstruction just above my field of view. I'm fine, probably won't leave a scar. Like it would matter with an almost 60 year old balding guy anyway.

Hugh, if the bill of the cap is getting in the way, maybe you need one of these:

Seriously hope you feel better soon!

Hugh Schumacher!

Just kidding, hope you get some rest. Do not ignore any dizzyness, headaches, etc for the next 2 weeks to a month or so. If you start to feel pain, nausea, slurred speech, etc then go back and insist on a CT scan.

Hugh,
Don't know if you're used to working around IATSE guys (prob are one) but alot of folks with traveling shows wear climbing helmets. That way no brim to hid the view of what's always lurking in the grid work that is always black and dark too to make things even worse.
My worst was stripping air conditioners from under a stage at a Springsteen show during the encore. Wires, cables, structural support and none of it higher than my 6' head. Luckily had a bucket on and must of hit the damn stuff what seemed like a dozen times. My coworker wasn't wearing a sissyhat and was bleeding by the time we were done.
A blow to the head, even if you think it's minor, can totally jack you ... be careful, be safe, and life well. IATSE Chocolatetown USA

I'm glad you're OK.

It sounds like your boss did everything right to ensure you didn't have a late-presenting concussion.
