Deja Vu was pretty good too.

Deja Vu was very good. I did notice a few movies called Serenity when I searched. I may look for the Joss one. I will be glad when winter is over. I have watched way too many movies lately.

The 2005 version of "Serenity" is the Joss film.

The prior TV series is "Firefly"... most of the same characters and story... has Christina Hendricks in it

Watching Serenity now. Way more fun than the Serenity I saw last night.

That was fun. Two thoughts. First, where was Harrison Ford ? Second, Summer Glau make Denzel look like a pussy.

She is the one that went ballistic after a phrase was said, right?

JackDidley 02-06-2019 03:39 PM

Yes, she was River. Also went all Denzel when the bad guys had them cornered.

Baz 02-07-2019 06:27 PM

"The Punisher" on AMC in 2 minutes.......:D

Turns out she was a Terminator. Nathan Fillion is currently on "The Rookie," which isn't half bad.

Yes, I liked her on Sarah Conner chronicles. That did not last long enough. Fillion was on another show also where he was a writer following around a hot cop. Forget the name of that one.

Saw, the girl in the spiders web today. A twisted plot about stolen software that could start a nuclear war. ALso a subplot about the chicks daddy issues. I liked it until it got near the end. Subplot got in the way. Still not terrible.

Raiders of the lost arc. Yes, 38 years later I finally watched this movie. I tried a couple times before and just could not get into it. Last night I decided to watch the whole thing. Not bad but just not my kind of movie. Now I can say I did see it.

Agree, not bad at all but I hardly remember it save a few action scenes and Karen Allen.

Just some ramblings below............

I have a few that remain on the bucket list so I can finally say I watched them:

Brazil / Schindler's List / Dune / Barry Lyndon / Spartacus / Paths of Glory

For those that have seen Dune, does it seem like a David Lynch movie at all? I sense no.

I watched the 2005 Serenity movie the other night. Made it halfway thru before I conked out. Saw it once before. It ain't bad at all though, for sci-fi, and I like the girl that was interested in Animal Mother from Full Metal Jacket. (Far left two in flipper's pic)

My take it was a well done and watchable lower budget film which would make sense vs a big Spielberg monstro-hit film.

However, did some Wiki sniffing and Raiders was made for under $20 million in 1981 (release). Serenity $40 million in 2005. Inflation calculator says the spends are even, plus or minus.

I'm in the same boat with certain movies. Finally watched Schindler's List a couple weeks ago - very very long - but really good and worth the effort.

Tonight watching "Romancing the Stone" on Ovation (cable). Have seen it a bunch of times but love it so much will keep watching when it comes on. Might be the best Michael Douglas movie ever and who doesn't like Kathleen "Body Heat" Turner back when she was smokin' hawt! :p

Destroyer. Not the best movie but it features Nicole Kidman like you have never seen. She can act. One of these may be the real N.K.

Finally watched Blade Runner 2049--initially upon completion I didn't much care for it, but then decided to re-watch. Although not as good as its predecessor, it was the best Sci-Fi film I have seen in awhile.

I had to watch it twice also. I wonder if I did the same with the original ?? Too long ago to remember.

We watched this and a few nights back. Thought it was pretty good...
