959
Did any of you see the Black 959 listed and sold in the cars for sale site. Holy moly that doesn't happen too often.

I did see that; a bargain at only 600k Euro! (Full disclosure, I have no idea what the market is on these cars. But that's more than Carrera GT's and approaching 918 money.)
And at the risk of being run out of here, the 959 never really did much for me.

I feel the same way, but a rare car though. Not many ever come up for sale, either

And the major differences between a 959 and a 996 twin are?

I remember being blown away when the 959 came out. Must have read that issue of R&T a thousand times. Today I would rather have a nicely sorted 930 or 993 than the 959. Reasons are hard to pin down but the rear styling did not age well IMO - similar to the slant nose 911 of the late 80's. I never liked the 959 wheels either.
No worries - I'll never be able to afford one

All of the subsequent turbo variants of street 911s benefitted from the technology in the 959, starting with the 993tt and carrying on to the 996/997tt and the newest 991tt.
Things like AWD for a 911 sports car with its torque-splitting differentials, twin turbos and yes, liquid cooling! The 959 was a real test bed on wheels as well as a competitive racing sports car, (did it ever get to race)? It had zillions of dollars in R&D that will never show up on the street cars, either because it's not cost-effective, obsolete or both. Still, it was an amazing effort by Porsche and its DNA is evident in all 911s since, especially the turbo models. |

Never did much for me, would rather have an F40, and most other 65-89 exotic 911s like the 69 GTS in Pano this month.

Yep, that's one ugly 911. Especially that rally car with those head lights.

It looks better in black than silver or white.
As for the ugliest Porsche ever...I think the 914 still takes that cake. |

Ive rode in one during some spirited driving. I was impressed.
The tool kit that comes with the car is intense.

I was filling up for gas at the sunoco right close to Mosport race track one Sunday, a GT3 was right beside me. The pretty young lady pumping gas was all over my 914 " I see porches all day long they all look like an ugly squashed bug with big eyes". She goes on and on really showing interest in my car, tell me how pretty it is. The GT3 owner finished paying, glared at me and peeled out of the station. She looked at me and smiled "I guess he heard me".

Tough crowd. If I had Justin Bieber's money, I would buy one after I made bail.
