The Super Bowl XLVII Thread

Ok, so the pundits were right this time. The two preseason favorites and #1 seeds are facing off in the Super Bowl. So who ya' got? #1 defense vs #1 offense should make for a great game. I like Manning so I'll be a Broncos fan (hard for a Chiefs fan to do), but I really hope it's just a great game that goes deep into the 4th quarter.

I'm going with the Bronco's but I'll have an eye on Sherman (he better hope he can put his money where his mouth is). He is one funny dude.

I like the way Denver matches up against Seattle. This will be intetesting. Manning is on a mission, so I like the bronco's. Maybe a little hometown bias.

Despite Sherman's talking, he didn't trash the Broncos or Manning. Probably wise to not trash talk what is statistically one of the best offenses in NFL history.

Since the 49'ners are out, a good game is paramount.

Payton, copy all, but I also like Wilson a bunch: There is a young man of note and merit.

What probably will sway me to the Broncos was an article in SI about Knowshon Moreno a few weeks ago.

I will say that the Seahawks D is goofy good and will probably be the difference in this game.

I am actually worried for Peyton Manning. I like the guy, pure class, but he better be ready to move around a bit or dump it quickly. The Hawks are punishing hitters and not usually just one at a time.

Respectfully, it was three turnovers by Kaepernick that killed the 49ers. Without those the refs would have had little to no effect. Yes, they missed the turnover where Bowman was hurt but it really didn't have an effect on the game since Seattle coughed it up on the next play.

Please remember that Super Bowl XL was handed to the Steelers by the refs, who later admitted that with all those yellow Steeler towels swirling in the stands there was no way they'd call every infraction the Steelers made. The refs said they feared for their safety. It cuts both ways.

Your larger point is well taken though. We'll all be curious to see how well, or not, the refs call the Super Bowl.
