Front engine 356?

Am I seeing things, or does this 356 have an engine mounted up front? Anyone have any other thoughts about what is going on under that front bonnet?

The pic of the "front engine" is not of that car (note the location of the mirror etc.). The car is also a long way from 1952.

Phil

You'd be mad to buy it... That primer would be hiding a lot of tin worm and the chassis would look like lace.

Shipping from Tokyo could be a deal breaker. Heck, finding someone in Tokyo to inspect it could be a challenge.

If you go to the guy's other auctions, you can see that the one front motor photo is from a 68' Lanca.

There are front engined V8 powered custom body work on a tube frame "356's" out there. They look cool, capture a certain style that no one ever made(huge wheel flares), but are not 356's.
