I had no problem accessing it. Perhaps your security settings are at play?

I don't really think that was the point. Regardless your reply was not warranted, with due respect.

FYI: I found another webpage with more info and photos:
CSUF student ID'd as man killed in Coto crash - The Orange County Register

There's some discussion in the news stories and reader's comments below about speeding in this neighborhood and specifically this street (which has a 45 mph posted limit).

I think we will always see young folks die behind the wheel as part of our culture - it doesn't make it any better for family and friends.

Condolences to all.

There, but for the grace of God, go a lot of us.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I can only think to pray for some level of acceptance and understanding to arise as time passes. It is a tough loss.

Some of you might want to share this with your children. Because although it might be God's will, it was still the young man's choice to speed in that neighborhood.

Now, more importantly, condolences to the family and friends and prayer that they will find a way to heal this wound to their hearts.

I am sure that the majority of us drove recklessly when we were in our youth. It just wasn't our time. I feel sorrow for his family, they are left with the pain.

My first reaction was "idiot" or something like that. Then I realized that I'm 50 y/o and that back when I was 22 y/o, I did far stupider and more reprehensible things behind the wheel. I was lucky, and I'm grateful. This young man was not, and I'm sad.

That's an awful loss to his family. I can't even imagine what it would be like.

RIP to the young lad and condolences to his family.

I remember in my yute driving in ways I shouldn't have. Going too fast, taking too many risks. Looking back, I shouldn't have gotten away with all that.
Through being blessed I did not have to pay for my poor judgement, and neither did my family. But it could have turned out much differently.
I bet most of you can say the same.
So why not us? Luck? Chance?

When someone does not get away with it we should all remember that it could have been us, or worse it could have our parents, our family, our friends grieving and struggling to deal with it.

How would they feel? How would they find the strength?

That family will be in my family's prayers tonight.

126coupe - rest assured, your friends are in our prayers. I simply could not imagine losing one of our boys - how on God's green earth could any parent ever deal with that?

My boys are now 26 and 23. Both grew up driving 911's, a car that would certainly have most parents worried. But for the grace of God, there go my wife and I...

My first car was a '67 GTO. Yes, I wrecked it. My second was a '69 Super Bee, built as a dedicated bracket car. I wrecked that one too. I think anyone who is a car nut has a similar history. My mom tells me today just how many sleepless nights she spent when I was going to school, driving cars like that. Your friends' son could have been me on any given night. Godspeed to the young man...

In retrospect, I shudder looking a some of the crap I got away with behind the wheel in my youte (ain;t you gots a speel checjer, Sammy?)......on the other hand, I had only one minor fender bender till a year or two ago when I totaled my truck. God must have put a guardian angel on my shoulder.......and paid him overtime for 40 odd years.

There but for the grace of God.........

Mom's '69 Cutlass S......now that's not the car you don't want your young son driving.....

Very small dent rear corner panel from spinning her out on Nova Road in Daytona Beach. Scared the hell out of me.....needless to say after that I cooled my jets.

If only everyone could get a second chance at this stuff....
