That's because there are so few running and driving examples.

Funny, I thought Duesenberg too:

Example 2: I bought a 911 3.2 Carrera. I got laid. More often than my neighbor who owned an SC. Conclusion, the 911 3.2 Carrera is a supercar, but while it gets you more tail than the SC, it is low on the supercar totem pole, but not the lowest.

Example 3: I bought a 964 C2. That in combination with example 2, oh man let me tell you, I now get laid morning, day, and night. Conclusion 1: the 964 C2 is a supercar. Conclusion 2: owning 2 super cars lower on the super car totem pole is easy on the wallet and also gets you the quality chicks, the ones that like sex, sports, beer, and the great outdoors.

Yep. A Chevette won't get you laid. A 964 C2 is a supercar, but a SC isn't.

Porsche 928

In 1978, a year after it first appeared on the market, the 928 was crowned Car of the Year.

Porsche was still a young company when the 928 coupe was released - barely 28 years old. The 928 marked a radical departure for the company, a change in direction from the slowly developing 911 model, with quirky dynamics, to a visually arresting V8 powered front engined coupe, with flawless 50/50 weight distribution and lavish use of exotic materials such as aluminium and polyurethane - both still in their infancy, as far as car manufacturing was concerned. The 928 was to be a technical masterpiece for the young company, and would certainly put the small Stuttgart concern on the supercar map.

I know... even those cars a getting old... but hey, I'm an old dude after all!

And in a recent survey of women they were asked what the most sexy car was...

I kid you not...

The number one vote was...

A pickup truck!

959 Porsche...the first car your Grandmother could drive at 200MPH, and not be scared s--t-less like you were going to die.

THAT'S a Supercar...and the technologies derived from that rolling laboratory Porsche sold to industry made them a freakin' mint.

I know its not an exotic but I'll put it up against some of them...

0-60 in under 4.0 easy!! Probably closer to 3.2 when I can keep my foot light.
Pulls over 1G
Brakes so frickin hard and fast the seatbelt hurts
175mph+ Easy!!

And it is quite rare, there were not very many full documented Lingenfelter conversions done on gen 4 Camaro's due to the popularity of the Vette conversions.

I'm sure it's an amazing camaro, but that doesn't mean that a built Mustang is a supercar either.

And I fully agree with you guys it is just a camaro. Not something I would ever buy usually, my good friend built the car and sold it to me for a song when his boys got old enough to want thier own toys.

My point was that for less than 2 figures the performance can be closely matched. So does a super car just mean you have to $hit out top money for your ride to be a supercar?

And I get laid for my looks and personality, not what I own or how much I spend.... hahahaha
