Is anyone actually watching the Olympics?
 

Maybe its just me but I just can't seem to get into watching them anymore. Maybe I'm just getting old or something?

I prefer the summer to the winter anyway, but I'm with you.

As a kid I remember being excited. Maybe I just made the people out to be bigger than they were...like Alberto Tomba. Or maybe they were a bit more "there" in the personality department. Or, perhaps (and I suspect this is largely the case), there are far more distractions now

I never cared about or for them. Once every four years people suddenly pay attention to a bunch of sports that otherwise have insignificant followings.

My wife is watching them. I'm surfing the Internet and trying to tune them out.

Yes. Someone is watching them.

Me too, only because I can't find the remote and I'm in bed on my phone surfing the internet. :D

well there was that cheesebag from NBC interviewing Bode Miller when he got a bronze skiing, she kept asking him about his brother that died last year until he cried.
Then the cameras from NBC stayed on him for over a minute.

Yes. The NBC online/ demand site is ideal and allows one to skip the televised drama. I enjoy winter sports so naturally drawn into the Olympics.

Night and day baby, CBC only though, more of a neutral reporting coverage

Yes I have watched for years.

I have always liked the alpine (non cross country) and Bobsled events.

The new snowboard and trick ski events definitely entertain me.

Short track speed skating is a great twist on speed skating but I wish they would add some of the roller derby aspects to it to make it truly exciting.

My wife likes the figure skating but it is only ok in my book. However, this year, the ice dancing event which I detest the most, really blew me away. The gold medal performance can only be best described as a ballet on ice.

I will also add that the Bode Miller interview after his Bronze win was shameful but in the end, Mr. Miller showed just us how great of a class act he is.

^^AMEN! that gold medal winner from Belarus had me googling Belarus. she was stunning..i LOVED the standing shot..when they come in huffing and BAM..they stand still and toss out their hips. wow..love

second hottest chick at the olympics was Bode Millers wife...egads..if you missed her pro volley-beach-ball photos they flashed on the screen during hubby's super G..sorry.

I was playing poker at a friends house. Ice skating was on. I remember this. :)

That's the last I saw of winter Olympics. No TV at my house.
