No Bob I didn't post the build process on Pelican but you can read it on the Early 911S Registry here:

My 904 replica build thread ...

- sorry for the hijack Mark.

No worries, Andy. Happy to have your link here for reference.

Chassis was finished and bonded to the body while the body is still in the mold. This provides the best fit and finish. Things should start to move faster from this point forward.

No kidding.

MRied, please post as much as you feel. I enjoy living vicariously through you!

Andy, I guess the Registry turns off the photos after 5 or six pages

From what I saw and read, my goodness....I was rebuilding an Italian 3 point tractor spreader today, was having some issues. Perhaps you can help me source some parts

The best to both of you.

More work on the body while it is still in the mold. This ensures everything stays perfectly aligned. Work is being done on the firewall. You can see the stainless chassis and then above that part of the mold reinforcements:

Here is the undercarriage with wheel liners ready for installation:

Meanwhile, the tail is being fitted and prepared for paint:

I also dropped the 915 off at Jones Autowerks to be rebuilt, fitted with a Guard LSD, and yo have the ring gear flipped. More to come!

With the main body bonded to the chassis and the undercarriage all installed, the body slowly emerges from the mold:

Until it's on the dolly and heading for the body shop.

Mark- You may know this... But Bob used to fix 904s back in the day at the factory when privateers would bring them back after being wrecked. Later, he owned an original as well.

Thanks, Skip. I had a long conversation with him last week when I dropped off the 915. He is very excited to see this car come together.

All are welcome!

Body work continues, but nothing of substance to see. They will start fitting the doors, hood and trunk lid next week.

Ultimate dream car, totally.

So what color? I would want something besides silver, though that does look great on it. Maybe aubergine, or gulf livery. How about a Pink Pig 904. or that hippie psychedelic one they had on the 917, you know the one I mean.

Love the blue. It's not a cliche Porsche color and looks great on the car.
