Richard Petty calls out Danica, about time

The all time king of the sport, Richard Petty says Danica Patrick could not win a Nascar race unless everybody stayed home. About time somebody calls a spade a spade. She is so-over hyped its a shame to all the good drivers out there trying to earn a living. And if anyone still thinks she EARNED the Daytona 500 pole, based on her ability, I've got some swamp land for you. She could not carry the jockstrap for most Nascar drivers today, just as she couldn't do it in Indycar racing.

I saw the name Petty, i still have some respect for him.......but the rest of Nasty Car, really ..who cares?
I am somewhat surprise Petty even says anything good about the current bunch of idiots.
Perhaps his roots......and sponsors..

If the car was real, at least that would add a element of excitement.

(First of all I'm not a big fan of NASCAR, just trying to make a point....)

If thats the case, are F1 or Indy cars" real cars"?? or 917s or similar types of purpose built ones, real cars??

As far as the drivers go, yeah there are a couple that fit your description but most are good down to earth guys. While most of your big name F1 guys and their type tend to be stuck up, self absorbed pompous d-bags.

When Petty was racing they were much less of a spec class, there was a lot more flexibility in how drivers could build and set up their car. Today they are all basically the same thing, just change the stickers.

I'm not a NASCAR fan, but I think most of them are good dudes. A friend of mine was at the Wynn in Vegas where they were having some variety of driver's convention, he met and talked with a bunch of them. He said they were all very friendly and posed for photos with him. He talked with Clint Bowyer about his hometown of Emporia, KS, and Clint actually came over and struck up a conversation with him the next day.
