Office manager has a bunch of old pictures she thinks nobody would care about

Her grandfather was an motor builder for the Unsers and AJ Foyt, has a bunch of pics from Indy 500 in late 1960s and early 1970s, in pit lane before the race with people milling around, cars on the track from the pits, stuff you would not see from the grandstands or on TV even. There was a pic at somebody's house with Al Sr sitting on a fireplace hearth, next to Mario Andretti, who was dressed in about the ugliest suit and tie I ever saw. He looked to be about 17. A bunch of custom car get togethers from the 1960s too

I am working on her to scan some of those shots. I think there would be fairly great interest in these pics,, beside my interest I mean.

Am I being weird

Scan it.

I am doing the same...old stuff that means zippy to anyone but me, but once in digits, it lives.

I was at the Inaugural Cali 500. Pics of that would be of interest.

Whats up with these bait thread titles? Thought some office mgr. left some naked pics or something.

BTW: At the dealership late 1980's, we had quite a looker tall blonde sales girl. She sucked.... ahmmm but anyhow she ended up quitting. She cleaned her desk out but later we found some naked pics of her in a drawer. Just simple poses, side shots of her curled up with a kitty.... let your mind take it from there. The 'office manager' female of course, grabbed them and made me wonder what the heck was really going on! LOL

I have pictures of a cross-country trip that I took with my parents back in 1975. I was just a wee tot, but some of the pictures, which I scanned, are me standing at Lincoln's childhood log cabin home, throwing a paper airplane into the Grand Canyon, walking up the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, actually touching the Liberty Bell, eating breakfast at the dining room table of the presidential suite of the Watergate Hotel, drinking tea at Boston Harbor, and getting out of the car to run around on the great salt flats in Utah.

Even if NO ONE else cares about the pics, you should scan them for her family and burn a DVD for her family to treasure.

She boxed that stuff up and mailed it to her dad after I left to go to the wound clinic this afternoon, damn.

I am totally calling her dad Ray to see if I can get him to send at least some back, greatest hits so to speak. I have a fairly kick ass scanner at the office, all he has is a crappy laptop. I will work on it, I promise.

I don't think you want to see naked pics of my office manager, nurse maybe, but not the office manager.

Based on some of the other photos posted here...standards for women are not high...just sayin...

Clearly photos taken in public places by you are fair game...but I am not sure exactly what type private personal photos (at home) are releasable without permission. For that matter, it seems that even public photos would likely be "property" of the photographer. Even for relatively famous folks.

Okay, here are a few from the 1980's box.
Little Al, maybe first Indy, he must be old enough to have a driver's license, right?

Al Sr

Tom Sneva, I think there are more signed ones in the other box, did not get to scan those, yet.

You guys like McClarens, right?

IIRC, and I don't have time to check right now, The Roman Wheel car was Little Al's first trip to the brickyard; The PC17 that Al Sr. is shown in was the winning car that year. Pulled out of a hotel display at the last minute)

Also, Little blocked Tom Sneva in the closing laps allowing Al Sr. to win, then bragged about it until he was told it was illegal to do it, and changed his story.

Or, I might have dreamed all that, because it sounds so far-fetched today.

Either way, please scan some more! (please?) Those appear to be in really good shape, with very little color fade. Now's the time to digitize!

If you open a flickr account and post them you'll be able to join vintage racing sub-groups that host all sorts of cool older photos. They will also get picked up by tumbler bloggers and the whole world will see them.

See the link to my flickr page below....
