If you could choose 1, wingsuit or jetpack?

It's tough, but I think I might choose the wingsuit even though it is a shorter flight and much, much more limited.

Or maybe they just need to strap Jeb Corliss into one of those jetpacks!!

I'm too much of a pussy for either.

But should there be an incentive such as a night with Maria Sharapova I'd jump out of the plane on a snowboard (with parachute as backup).

I probably should have put a fourth option for "I have to pick just one?"

I am not ready to die.

BASE Fatality List - BASE jumping :: Wingsuit :: Speed Flying :: BASEJumping.tv @ BLiNC Magazine

Very high mortality rate in BASE jumping. For every 10 Jeb C. jumps there is probably some poor schmuck trying to be cool too hitting the hillside.

I am fascinated with wingsuit flying. If I was reincarnated, I'd want to be a bird of prey. A hawk ... until then, I'll get my speed on 4 wheels in a nice car.

Yep, high mortality rate, but I think that can be reduced by being smart and starting slow. Hell, even using a wingsuit after jumping out of a plane would be cool , I would think.

Wow, yeah, that's pretty sweet. I'm thinking you might need decent wind and thermals for that sort of thing.

How about a jet-pack-equipped wingsuit?

Sorry, guess I'm getting old (over 50)... even the Miata can scare the poop out of me.
Flying without a airplane? Not going to happen.

I live on a penesula and we get some bada$$ winds (nicknamed huricane gulch)

Kite boarding and wind surfing are realy big here.

I gotta wonder, has a kite boarder ever been blown away?

I want to see this stuff show up in a 007 film. Very cool.
As to which I would choose? I like them both.

I know that I've seen wingsuits in a couple of movies, but the only one that I can remember is Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2, and it wasn't as exciting as the videos posted above.

Wing suit only glides, and you need a local mountain, skyscraper, or friend with an airplane (or helicopter) to jump off of (or out of).

A jet pack has a short range, but you can take off & land on your own.

A combination would be great. The jet pack to get to altitude and then glide back to earth with the wing suit.

Kind of like the Me 163 flight profile.
