What size is the wheel? That will play into it too. I had 245/45/16 on my 80SC, but on 9" Fuchs, had plenty of room.

Best to have an 8 inch wheel....then if you're lucky enough to find a fresh set of 245/45s......

I ran 245-45-16 on back of my SC on 8" BBS, and it worked well (with 225/50 in front).

I eventually went back to the stock sizes because street tires in 245-45-16 dried up. Only one option and it is softer than I want in a street tire, and more expensive.

You know how to tell how old the tires are so you know they're not unsafe, don't you? They might not even be worth $150. You don't want to cheap out on tires.
