No gauge on the bikes, I wait until they go on reserve. I've run them all dry to see how far they will go (while carrying a gas can).

At 300 miles on the odo, I ignore the gauge.

Depends on where I'm at, and if I have a trailer... If I'm in remote New Mexico or AZ pulling a trailer getting 10mpg and I see a good place to stop and I'm below 1/2 I fill that sucker up!

Quarter around town, half when on a long road trip and half when the temps are going to be below zero.

When the light is on around town. When I get below 1/4 on long trips.
I can also use gps to know where to get gas, and act based on that info.

The miles till zero on my truck is waaay conservative, but I don't want to run it out of diesel so I usually fill up right when the light comes on, or if I have spare time and see a good price I fill up then if its below 1/2 tank.

On my dd, usually when the needle is in the red as I know how far I can go below it until I am in trouble.

90% of my driving is within 5 miles of home. There are at least a dozen gas stations within that range. If I'm going to be driving a greater distance, I'll check the gauge before heading out and fill up accordingly. Otherwise, I wait for the light, which by the way, lets me know I only have 50-70 miles to travel before the engine will die on me.

In my 993, when the low fuel light comes on. I start looking for a gas station within the next 20 miles.

1/4 around town. On a road trip I start looking for a good stopping place when I go under 1/2. In the country it's sometimes 50+ miles to the next station, not the time to test your trip computer accuracy.

This, especially in the summer, I will get gas early in the AM. On a road trip, I will plan out pretty far ahead.

When the light comes on.

1/4 tank... in town (and on the open road if I know I'm not going to run too low before the next chance to get more), because it can supposedly get expensive if you run dry and burn up the electronic fuel pump.

Earthquake country. I rarely go below 1/4 tank. Just in case .............................

I keep it full in the winter. I'll top it off from 1/4 tank if a storm is coming.
Summer I wait till the light comes on.

I usually don't have to stop to get gas. It shows up on its own, random schedule.

In my DD, I drive 1000 miles in a bad week, 600 miles in a good week, so I keep an eye out for cheap diesel once my gauge shows 1/2 empty. I fill up once I am reasonably sure that I won't beat that price.(in UK diesel can vary by at least 30-50 cents per gallon from station to station, and as I only get 48mpg that can represent the price of a cheap meal per week in savings).
My competition cars, I keep the gas tanks only full enough to get to and from the event plus what I will use there.

I refill about 1/4 most of the time. It also varies according to plan. I make sure to fuel up at my couple of preferred stations before I leave town if I know I am going to be traveling any kind of distance. I hate trying to find a suitable station on the fly. I prefer non-ethanol fuel.

When the low fuel bell rings in my truck. This happens at 23 gal. on a 26 gal. tank.
I monitor consumption with my trip meter. I usually get 16-17 mpg in mixed driving.
When I'm on the interstate, I stop when I have to pee. Empty one tank, fill the other....
