Have IE 10, but a few websites kicked me out because I had IE 6?
Have gotten this a few times lately, can't figure it out. Why would I get an error message that my archaic IE 6 would not run on a website, when I have IE 10 on my computer?

Go to settings and put it in compatibility mode for that page. That should make itself report as IE 7 or 8 I think.
I used to have this problem with certain installers. When they write it they code in an error talking about IE6, and only throw it when it doesn't find 7, 8, or 9 (because that's what they knew about at the time). Then 10 comes out and it doesn't fit the 7/8/9 criteria and it stupidly throws the error message.

Too big to fail

Because the idjits who coded the site aren't parsing the headers correctly, and as the llama said, making assumptions that are 10 years out of date.

I have it in compatibility view for everything, and added the website to the list of sites to run in that mode, no dice.
