The lack of a pair of smittys coming out of the bed is bewildering. I also wonder when he'll install that lift kit, cause I KNOW the front end is worn out on that truck... The local Hispanic fellas roll like that, but they go for a lower, and sportier look. Flares, wings, skirts, spoilers, stick-on scoops, vent shades, etc... Some of the tailgate artwork is pretty skilfully done, even if the subject matter is questionable. It's alright. I'm sure somebody talks junk about what I drive too. rolleyes:

Because for him, every day is September nineteenth. If'n I were in the Miata, he would probably make a sexual orientation comment, he would not know what to make of the 914

Cuz Pirates get pirate babes! That and cabin boys... Wife thinks I'm nuts for working on the Miata. Why did I need to change the wheels and tires (14x6 to 15x 6.5 Enikei)? Why did I need to put a new radio and speakers (Alpine and two 6.5" in the doors)? Why did I spend $750 on coil-overs (you can easily spend over $2000)? I am thinking of putting a spoiler on the back... there is a guy in Japan that has a business making carbon fiber and fiberglass parts for Miata's... I bookmarked the site... wife (rolling eyes) you not going to start buying carbon fiber parts for Mimi are you? But, yeah, our funny little sports cars (be they German or Japanese) probably get just as many head scratches.

Wanted the V-Maxx... or Tein's... but with shipping those are hitting a little over$800. Cheaped out and got Megan's $699 = $750 after tax and shipping. Nicely machined and anodized bodies, same spring rate at the Tein, rebound and height adjustable. Rides and corners much better but of course I changed out the OEM 19 year old shocks/springs (and dropped her about an inch). Wife freaked out but got over it quickly... she knows I'm hot rodding it but pretends not to notice.

Bah, a wing, you want the carbon fiber fastback top that replaces the trunk, a la Mr Woolery, or a trunk with integrated spoiler I need to get different wheels for mine.

Have you checked at Good-win? They have some drool worthy wheels over there. Mazda Parts from Good-Win Racing - Mazda Performance Specialists Yes, the fastback is very cool... but my car came with a hardtop... integrated trunk spoiler is also very cool... but I was thinking a more understated little duck-tail: Trunk Spoiler

It is sort of OT. Modding your vehicle. The scurvy dog pictured in the first post is primarily concerned about appearance. How long would it take to put on all those stickers, or maybe some of that was professionally done. I could have every drop of fluid changed in the Miata in the time it would take to get all that "flair" on that truck, probably do the valves on the 914 too. We look at that guy and snicker. He would probably think I am nuts for spending $25 a quart for magic Ford transmission oil and using brake pads that make my wheels look dirty. I like the idea of a little bit better shifting, and will pay to see if ground unicorn horn really does make the 6 speed shift as nice as the 5. I don't care about the wheels being shiny much, the car is brake dust colored anyway. I want to be able to stop hard enough to stick your bubble gum to the windshield. Quote:
