Met My Old Flame
Remember the Paul Simon song that starts,"I met my old lover on the street last night.."
Well this wasn't a woman, but the "old E" the '69 911 E with an S front bumper and a tail. She looked good. Guards Red was not her original color (that was wine red), not were the Cookie Cutters the wheels with which she first took to the streets. It was however, the way she looked when I aquired her. I had been returning from delivering my wife to the airport and traffic was light. My mental process was something like:"Hmm, a sports car. A 911...an old one. My old 911!" I had time to flash the lights and give a thumbs-up. It was good to see her doing well. I don't know if Barry (her current owner) is on the board, but if you are: Thanks for making my morning a bit better. ![]() Best Les
