One bad ass cat

Had a Calico that did the same thing when our Schnauzer got attacked by a stray dog.

Sorry no embed link.

Cat saves boy from dog attack in California (VIDEO) - ABC15 Arizona

Cool cat. Amazing.

I am a big animal lover. That dog needs to die. It attacked a human at random for no reason. Euthanize it.

We had a cat that would chase dogs. Named "Independence"...

calimedeiros 05-14-2014 10:50 AM

That's awesome I love my cats to death but I think both of mine would run and hide lol but you never know until something like this happens

nostatic 05-14-2014 10:59 AM

One of my cats would do that in a heartbeat. I bet the cat in the video is a female. They don't take kindly to anything that messes with "their family."

That dog needs to be put down.

We had a cat when I was a kid that would not tolerate a dog on our side of the street when we were in the yard. Big black tomcat. If they failed to cross the street, he would encourage them to do so.

That was my first thought. Dog goes down.

MY cat (female Maine coon) is not scared by dogs. At all. Watches them, they never seem to come close. I Wonder what goes on between them.

Blast head off dog.

Give kitty treats.

cstreit 05-14-2014 12:40 PM

That was awesome.

WTF is wrong with that DOG though? I've never seen one just attack like that!

Happened to my wife.

She was out for a walk a block from the house, neighbor was having work done in the yard, workmen left the gate open, neighbor came home, let her two GSD's out not realizing the gate was open, the dogs ran into the street, saw my wife and the male grabbed her by the leg from behind, guy in a car was there and jumped out yelling and the dogs ran back to their yard. She got about the same damage as the kid in this video, she still has the scars 20 years later.

Needless to say she is not a fan of GSD's.

I was attacked by a dog about that color and size when I went down the driveway to get the mail. Our dog intercepted and I called her off thinking it learned it's lesson. It came at me again and our dog made sure it never got back home. It is amazing how quick animals can be and how ruthless when other animals mess with the "pack". Our lab was a female as well.

Baz 05-14-2014 01:59 PM

Was the dog grabbing only the kid's clothes?

I didn't see any biting.......maybe I missed something.

Sometimes a dog will pull on clothing.

???

Hugh R 05-14-2014 01:59 PM

How did they also get the video of the dog and cat on the other side of the Suburban? Look at the seconds counter of the top of the video, something is amiss.

oldE 05-14-2014 02:06 PM

Hugh,
I think we are looking at the homeowner's surveilance video from at least three cameras.
The time stamps show the dog was approaching on the other side while we are watching the child.
Baz,
The dog grabbed the child by the leg and hauled him down.

Amazing cat!

Best
Les

Security cameras, I think. Amazing video!

Hugh R 05-14-2014 02:07 PM

Good point. Hadn't thought of that.

widebody911 05-14-2014 02:10 PM

I was surprised that it was not a pit bull (sorry: American Staffordshire Terrier)

Steve Carlton 05-14-2014 02:13 PM

It said in the link that the dog is under observation. I'll bet they're seeing if it has rabies before they put it down.
