Kurt Busch crashes at Indy

s

Being said it was this year's biggest crash. Unhurt. Going to Marco's backup car.

Too realistic of a flame paint job.

Glad he is OK.

I think he's much better on a road course than you'd like to give him credit for.

At first, I thought "again?". That's a couple days old.

He's crazy ...attempting the Indy 500 and coke 600 the same day.

Danny Onthegas, I liked him. Tom Sneva too! One of my favorites.

I hope he is competitive, 1100 miles is a lot for one day of racing.

Yep, Sneva was a good guy...I met him when I assisted with Janet Guthries team in 1977 when she qualified as the first women in the Indy 500....It really was a close group of racers then driving unique cars, not the spec racing we have today....Lost most interest in Indy Racing when the "war" started with Tony George....So sad what it has become.

Clueless, at my local kart track, Kurt is about 1.5s faster than Kimi Raikkonen, and we are FAR from an oval with just left turns. Kimi had better equipment and weather/track conditions in his favor too as they were there a few weeks apart.

Race drivers are race drivers, and although some can adapt to more styles than others, I wouldn't be putting the ones that race in "mostly left" series down. Motorcycle dirt racers are a class of their own though, I've never seen one do a great job elseware.

What Kurt, and a few others before him have done, with these double schedules, is pretty amazing. I was watching Kurt on TV qualify Indy, hung out with some friends for a short while and went up to the allstar race, and low and behold he'd been flown and was racing all night yet again. @_@

Kurt can drive. He has never competed in indy cars and qualified 12th. That is raw talent. I am worried his inexperience in traffic will bite him early. Hopefully he'll make it through and get to the 600.

I won't disagree with anything you've said, but there was this one guy....

Kurt has said that he has some bad habits from driving the big cars that he needs to unlearn. Hopefully he'll figure out that keeping his nose clean for the first 150 laps isn't one of them.

To some he's just a Nascar clown, when in fact he's an extremely talented racecar driver. In fact, many of those Nascar clowns are just damn good racecar drivers.

What he was able to do with a couple of crappy cars after getting fired from Penske was really amazing. He really worked on his temper and image too. It's a real inspiration to watch someone turn around their life like that.

Well said, and while he drove the #78 car I was hoping to see him win. Glad he got a win this year.

I would be more worried about his attitude than traffic.
