Ten arrested in alleged Orlando prostitution ring

OK we hear about these kinds of arrests every day.....but what caught my attention in this story is these 2 criminals between them have 90 felony and 50 misdemeanor arrests.

Why aren't they in prison?

I realize an arrest is not the same as a conviction but wouldn't you think out of 90 felony and 50 misdemeanor arrests the criminal justice system would be able to get 'em locked up?

Lt. Michael Gibson says the MBI has been investigating this ring for more than four months. He says Terence D. Burke, also known as "Black Money," and Jeremy Manuel, also known as, "Black Bus Stop," have been running the operation. Lt. Gibson says both are career criminals, and between the two of them, they have 90 felony and 50 misdemeanor arrests.

"They're very violent. Indications and evidence suggest they're beating the females. We know they're armed and we've already recovered fire arms," said Lt. Gibson.

Never could understand the big push to lock up prostitutes. They have something to sell that somebody else is willing to pay for. What's the big deal?

It's our puritanical society. Many European countries (and Nevada) have legal prostitution. I see nothing wrong with it, though I'd never use the servcie...my philosophy has always been why would I pay for something that is so easy to get for free?

I see no problem with legal and regulated prostitution. The real problem is the crime it brings with it. No one wants a red light district in their part of town. No one wants to see street walkers.

There has to be some way to legalize it, regulate it, and tax it. Like legal pot, it ain't going to happen anytime soon.

On TV and the movies the hookers are all nice ladies with a heart of gold. I suspect that is as accurate to reality as the average movie character that Tom Cruise plays.
