Lamborghini owners
The Lamborghini vs Rock thread got me thinking, when could you actually enjoy an Aventador (or any other 12 cylinder Lamborghini)?
Genuine unprejudiced question. Any owners here who'd like to comment? |

Reminds me of a story that goes something like... Porsche gave a 911 turbo to one of it's factory drivers... he gave it back, he said "this car will break the speed limit in second gear."

I love the motorcycle quote "It's a lot more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow." However, I'll still take the fast bike/car/moped/whatever given the option. |

Ahh but you're forgetting that having a Lambo will get you lots of attention and probably laid.
By men. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I would love to own a Countach or better yet, a Miura. But the modern cars seem cartoonish. Not my thing.
(Yes, I am ignoring the fact that both of the models I mentioned could have been described as cartoonish in their time. Go with it.) |

You kinda need to pave your own private road system if you want to push a car like that in the USA on streets...

I have an acquaintance that has an orange Anvetador. Our wives are friends. His daughter is in the same grade as my son. She is embarrassed by it. He doesn't drive it as much any more. I think the novelty has worn off...

Amazing cars to be sure. I would love to drive one for a bit, but I don't think I'd actually want to own an Aventador or Murcielago. I did like the Gallardo. I think I would own one of those. But none of them are as sexy as the Ford GT. I'd also rather have a CGT or McLaren than the Lambos.
I think you could play with them a bit if you lived out in the middle of no where. Not to mention, cars that fast can get moving really quickly, so it doesn't take nearly as long to get to ballistic speeds in one.

it's no Lambo, but does offer similar thrills. I would like to own a Gallardo, though....

this is annoying. EVERYBODY wants to race. A couple weeks ago, a cougar in an S7 pulled up to me and asked if I wanted to race. My reply: "Not really." The she proceeded to tell me how her S7 would do 200mph. To which I replied "No it won't." ...then I rolled up my window. it's an annoying situation. If you race on the streets, you look like a complete tool, plus it's just stupid. Plus, you get a lot of jealous behavior out of other motorists.
